21: 「Too Soon」

"Uwa—!",

Y/n shot up from her futon, her hair was a mess and her clothes were her sleeping attire. It is obvious she had just woken up. Did she have a weird dream again?

Y/n noticed that the sun was already up, the soft sunlight bouncing against her s/t (skin tone) soft skin.

Footsteps could be heard, she braced herself, afraid that it might be Scaramouche, but she was wrong, it was just Kazuha. "Ah! Y/n, ohayou~" He cheerfully greets. She smiles, relieved it wasn't the man she fears, "Good morning, Kazuha" she replied. A smell of eggs being cooked was found, the fragrance making y/n drool.

Kazuha prepared the table in the dining room while Y/n followed the smell to the kitchen. She expected to see her father cooking, but, again, she was wrong. Tomo was the one cooking.

Her cheeks flushed, remembering the kiss that had happened last night, y/n's father definitely asked Kazuha and Tomo to mind the house for y/n while he goes out for work.

Tomo glanced at y/n and smiled, "Morning, Y/n, did you sleep well? Or perhaps you want me to sleep beside you next time?" He jokingly says before focusing back at the food he is preparing, "I- yes, i did sleep well" Y/n answered as she walks near Tomo.  He looked at her for another second and cleared his throat, "So, y/n, about last night—" before he could continue, Y/n pecked Tomo's cheek.

"e-eh? Y-y/n-san? HUH?..." He stutters. It seems like he isn't used to these kinds of things yet, and it also appears he becomes quite formal when he's somewhat embarrassed or flustered.

"Get used to it" Y/n pouts.

Tomo extinguished the fire with water, "I uh, i was about to tell you that the dangos you made tasted good" he sheepishly says.

Y/n stood there like an unmovable stone, embarrassed.

Tomo added some freshly made ketchup on-top of the omurice. "You do realize that your lips tasted better than—", 'Stop acting like that when i'm here, go get a room you two?!" Kazuha peeked on the door frame.

"We're not a thing, Kazuha, at least, not yet, it's too soon. As long as y/n is in this situation i can't bring myself to take y/n out with me" Tomo explained, Y/n simply nods. "Gah...i don't like it when the two of you is like this..." Kazuha fakes his weeping while he walks back to the dining room.

"So, what's the plan?" Y/n faces Tomo, his face shifts to seriousness.

"Knowing he is on the move and he wants to take me to Sumeru, but for what...even i don't know what he want, but why the cryo vision", She placed a finger on her chin, "Oh and—! He has the gnosis too, we can't just take him down so easily, we need to have a word with Aether since his next destination is Sumeru, if i recall, he is also after Scaramouche" she continued. "I can't risk you, you know that" He sighed, "If it has to be done then we have to choice, it's for the sake of Inazuma too you know?" She answered.

He focuses back on the food he is preparing, "Go help Kazuha prepare the table, you don't want him staring into nothingness again don't you?" He joked, "sometimes i can't tell whether he is your enemy or friend" Y/n shook her head before going to Kazuha.

"What did you talk about?" He asked, "We need to know about Aether's whereabouts first and his objective why he needs to go to Sumeru" Y/n replied.

"You wanted to see me?" Aether smiled and turns his head away from Itto to Y/n, "I heard you just came back from the Chasm with er...Itto" She awkwardly says while Itto at the back was arguing with Kujou Sara about his mini drum along event festival.

"Oh and— is that a ms. Hina standee?" Y/n exclaimed.

"He's quite hard to understand...", Aether replied.

"I actually only came here to ask something" Y/n looked into his golden eyes, the eyes of someone who doesn't belong to Teyvat. "Anything" he softly smiled, "Why exactly do you want to go to Sumeru?" She asked.

His eyes slightly gloomed, 'For my sister' he thought,
"To meet the Dendro Archon and ask her about...well...something, what about it? Does it matter Scaramouche?" He asked back and y/n nods. "Pretty much, yes, i need to know about his whereabouts on why he wants me." She looks down at the salty water below.

"I have a feeling he will be on my way when i step in Sumeru, he can't stay here in Inazuma for so long because, well, the fatui is scattered here in groups just to capture him and probably present him the the Tsaritsa— don't tell anyone but a few months ago i met with the eleventh harbinger, Childe, who reveled that he, a harbinger, is after his own comrade" Aether explained and y/n listened.

"I don't want to fight him" Y/n took a deep breath and fiddled the vision in her fingers.

"What are you planning to do?", "He has a gnosis, he'll hurt you, my friends, Tomo too, all because of me!" Concern filled his voice and a hint of fear, Aether stayed silent.

"I'l...surrender myself to him" She spoke up.

Aether furrowed his brows, "Don't surrender yourself you'll just make yourself more of a coward" he spat out and y/n shot her head towards him. "He wanted the gnosis to himself, meaning he is greedy for power, he is greedy for your power, fight him y/n, no, defeat him, with me"
