12 : 「Sudden」

Y/n decided to stay in her house after Tomo has left.

Her father is still busy doing his duty in Kannazuka, honestly, what is y/n supposed to do in her life when nothing interests her anymore.

Ever since Tomo and Kazuha, her two childhood friends left Inazuma, y/n suddenly felt numb and empty. She started to lose interest in the things she used to love. She used to love to sew, she used to be interested in the stars, she used to feel true happiness.

Y/n's mother has always been there for her, always by her side, only until when y/n was at the age of nine, news of her mother being involved with the fatui came up. 'It's for the better good' y/n's mother would always say.

Her mother ran away from home without a word--or even a reason, leaving the father hopeless and y/n alone. Her father still loved her mother even though she has been involved with the fatui, a fatui harbinger to be exact.

"Father, where did mother go?" nine-year-old Y/n asks as she sat on the zaisu, eating her meal.

"We...don't know, but best if we don't try to look for her. We can't get our name to be involved with the fatui any further than your mother already has" her father says, refusing to look at y/n. He was scared. Sure he can fight for he is part of the Shogunate, but he wouldn't dare get himself or y/n involved, especially if it's the fatui they're dealing with.

"Your mother has left us, but I still love her no matter what" Her father stood up and took the now empty bowls off the table.

What did the fatui want with y/n's mother?

Right...y/n's mother wields the power of Cryo, but what about her being a vision holder be involved with the fatui in the first place?

Y/n looks at the empty vision shell. Was this empty vision shell mother's? But how come it went to the treasure hoarder's hands...

Y/n look a closer look as she sat on the zaisu, eyeing the vision shell down. Can y/n reawaken it? No, she's too weak, or that is what she thinks of. She left the empty shell at the chabudai and stood up to her mother's study.

It took an hour or two to find the letter.

A letter arrived a few weeks after her mother left, Mr. L/n read it and he looked devastated. But why? And why did he refuse to let y/n read the letter, was the letter really from her mother's or was it from someone else. It could also be the reason why Mr. L/n joined the shogunate.

Y/n takes a box full of letter out, looking the the exact date that letter arrived.

Wax seals coming from Mondstadt, Liyue, and Sumeru was all she saw, of course these letters easily passed through Inazuman borders before the Sakoku Decree.

As y/n was looking through the letters she finally sees an unfamiliar seal.

Why does this letter have a seal of the Fatui?

Y/n opened the letter envelope to see the letter itself. Another seal. A weird unique one that she has never seen before.

Y/n read through the letter thoroughly, looking for clues and details if the letter mentions anything about the vision shell, thing is, it wasn't her mother's letter, it was the Harbinger's.

Nothing.

Nothing about the vision shell was mentioned, however, the last line of the letter made Y/n's blood run cold,

'I finished her off myself. It was really for the better good. Don't make me do the same with your daughter'
It was obvious that the letter was specifically for Mr. L/n. It was a threat, but for what?

Loans were the first thing that came into y/n's mind. She remembers overhearing her parent's fighting.

"You did what?!" Mr. L/n shouts, "It's better than not being able to feed y/n for a day! I had to!" Mrs. L/n cried.
"Yes, but of all people you decided to ask a loan from the Fatui! Do you have any idea what you just got our name into?"

Y/n shook her head from the memory. Who killed her mother?

Y/n took small deep breaths to calm herself down before looking at the letter again.

The letter was written in Inazuman. She observes the two seals once again, especially the unique looking one.
Is this from a harbinger?

Y/n sighed and places the letter back to where it belongs and cleans the room as if it wasn't touched.

She hears knocks coming from the door, making her feel goosebumps all over. She rushed to the main door, hoping it isn't a treasure hoarder or a fatui member, or worse, a harbinger.
"Y/n? You there?"

As soon as she heard the voice, she calms down. It was just Kazuha.

She slides the door open to reveal her dear childhood friend. "Kazuha, why are you here so early?" She asks. "Huh? Oh, it's just that i finished my daily tasks, i still have more though, i have a sparring session with Aether later after lunch" He says as he takes his shoes off before entering the house.

"How about you? What have you been up to recently...huh, what's that?" His ruby eyes focused at the empty vision shell placed on the chabudai.

"Oh! That's um...it's pretty personal" Y/n hurried to pick the empty shell up. When she looked up again, she noticed Kazuha looking odd.

"Kazuha—"

"Don't play tricks with me, he was here, was he?" He snapped. His words came out of his mouth like venom.

Kazuha's eyes widened the moment he realized what he just had said, y/n furrowed her eyebrows. She has never seen Kazuha act like this before.

"He?" Y/n tried to act clueless as possible.

"Tomo. He was here, was he? Don't lie to me y/n, i won't get mad" Kazuha reassures and smiles. His smile looked so fake.

Y/n gulped and looks down. She messed up big time.

"No. He's dead" she lied. This made Kazuha chuckle. How did he know?

"So you knew. I felt some of his elemental energy on you. He used his electro vision on you", Kazuha explains. He finally admits that Tomo IS alive.

"Yes he is, now tell me, why are you keeping it a secret that he is alive?" Y/n finally has the guts to look into Kazuha's orbs.

"Because i love you Y/n. I don't want anyone to take you away from me, you are mine, and mine only" Kazuha placed both of his hands on her shoulders, attempting to pull her closer but failed due to the sudden stinging he felt on his hands.

An effect from Tomo's vision maybe?

Kazuha slightly blushed and groaned out of frustration before storming out of the house without a word.

Wait, since when did Tomo slightly electro-charge her?

A lot already happened this early in the morning. The empty vision shell, the letter and now Kazuha's sudden love confession.

Y/n decided that she'll just go out again and help Yoimiya out, the best distraction by making herself more busy.
