[Cayden's POV]

I groaned as my alarm clock buzzed awake and I slammed my fist on it.

I sighed as I got up, stretching from my bed before getting out of bed.

I entered my mom's room, seeing she was asleep like usual, tear stains fading on her cheeks.

"Mom," I said, gently shaking her thin form. "Mom, wake up."

She groaned softly as she woke up and saw me, smiling softly.

"Good morning, sweetie," she said, sitting up.

I smiled. "Good morning. Want me to start breakfast?"

"No, no, let me. You can just get ready for school," she smiled tiredly.

I sigh and nodded, kissing her forehead. "Okay. Be careful."

She nodded as I got up and went back to my room to get ready.

My name is Cayden Vincent Mora. I'm 16 years old, a junior in high school. I live with my mom, who's probably the best thing I have in my life.

Throughout my life, my mom hasn't really been so happy, but still smiles for me so I won't worry. She sacrifices everything just for me, which I think is too much. She's given up jobs, friends, and even food, pretty much a lot just so I can be happy, and os she can even feed me and make sure I have clothes.

I showered and got dressed in an Aiden tshirt, black skinnies, and black converse, adding in some bracelets and necklaces before grabbing my bag and heading downstairs to see her cooking some eggs and bacon.

"Anything new for today?" she asked in her soft voice.

"Nothing really. I guess another test," I said as she set the plate in front of me, along with a glass of orange juice.

"You're very smart. I'm sure you'll do fine," she said, rubbing my back.

"Thanks Mom," I said as she served herself some coffee, sitting next to me.

"Are you going to eat something, Mom?" I asked.

She smiled a little and shook her head. "No, sweetie, I'm fine."

I frowned a bit and pushed my plate to her. "Please eat something, Mom. I don't want to see you get sick."

"Sweetie, no, I'll be fine," she said. "Just eat up."

I sighed and gave up as she pushed my food back. "Okay."

She smiled a little softly as she sipped her coffee and I ate.

My mom suffers from depression and eating disorders. It breaks my heart, because she's too beautiful and young to be doing this to herself. She started out a teen mom raising me without her parents even wanting to help. They're mean.

I wasn't kidding when I said she gave up almost everything just so I could have everything. Anything to keep me from a foster home.

As for my dad, well.... I never met him. I know who he is though. He's Christian Mora, or CC from Black Veil Brides. He and my mom hooked up years ago in a party, and then I was born. Mom wanted to protect him from getting into any issues with paparazzi, so she made sure he never found us. I doubt he even tried, but its not like I care anyway.

I finished up, putting my plate in the dishwasher, and went to brush my teeth before heading back to the kitchen for my bag.

"Please eat something," I begged to my mom as I knelt down to her level.

She sighed and was quiet before facing me and kissing my forehead. "I'll try," she said, brushing my hair from my eyes with her gentle fingers. "You're too good to me, you know that."

I smiled. "Because I love you, Mom," I said, kissing her cheek.

"I love you, too, honey," she said.

I smiled. "I'll see you after work, okay?" I asked.

She nodded. "Be careful," she said.

I got my bag and waved bye to her before leaving the house and blinking onto my bike, revving the engine as I turned it on, pulling on my helmet before pulling out the driveway and speeding down the street to school.

My life isn't the best, but me and my mom try and make the best of it.
