Jace and Clary: This love

Chapter 39

Jace's POV

Something is wrong, I can feel it in my body, it's the same feeling I had when the heavenly fire was coursing through my veins. I thought that clary had solved that though. I have to get a hold on this.

If I can't control this I could hurt anyone around me including clary and I cannot have that happen. I walk out of the bathroom and see clary on our bed asleep. I want to get back in bed so bad and hold hurt but I can't not when I'm like this.

I leave the bedroom and go to the library, there has to be something I haven't read, there has to be something or somewhere I can get an answer. After looking all throughout the library nothing about what's going on with me.

I have to tell someone I need help as much as I don't want to admit it. I can't do this alone, I could always tell clary but I don't want to take the chances of hurting her. I would never forgive myself. I decide to call magnus.

"Hello" I say when the line connects a very sleep sounding magnus answers the phone, "who would call this early in the morning it 4 in the morning herondale you better have a good reason for waking me up"

I swallow before I say "somethings wrong... I think it's the heavenly fire" as soon as I said heavenly fire-"get over here now jace, I thought it was gone for good- I sigh and say " yeah well so did I, I'm on my way just let me text clary, and please don't tell anyone they will want to help and I don't need anymore people around to get hurt"

Magnus sighs "alright just hurry jace we don't need you bursting into flames"

I end the call and send a quick text to clary saying I had to go to magnus' to go over some work, it's not a complete lie, I don't like lying to her but it's what I have to do to keep her safe.

I hurry to magnus', as soon as I get there he yanks me inside.

"Alright jace lay down I'm going to see if I can figure out what's going on and why it came back" I nod and lay down

Magnus starts doing his sparkle fingers over me, and I just try to relax and keep the fire inside me at bay.

Clary's POV

As I start to wake I roll over onto jace's side to cuddle up into his warmth, but when I feel nothing but coldness, I get up and look around the room confused. Jace always stays in bed with me until I wake up, even if he is up for hours he always waits for me.

I get a sick feeling in my stomach, I grab my phone and see a message from jace, he said he had a few things to do at magnus' but why would he tell me that before hand like yesterday. I decide to send him a message

- are you okay? You weren't in bed this morning, and you always wait for me.

-yeah babe I'm okay I just had a few things to do don't worry

- I'll try not to, are you sure your okay? You know you can tell me what it is no matter what.

- I know baby But I don't want you to have to and I definitely don't want you to get hurt

-okay now your scaring me jace what the hell is going on?

- the heavenly fire.. it's back clary and I don't want you to get hurt because I can't control it

- I'm coming over right now

-clary no-

- yes I am I found out a way to help you last time maybe I can do it again this time okay just hold on I'm coming

My heart is beating out of my chest- it's back why is it back. Things have been so good we were finally getting the life we deserve the life he deserves.

Jace deserves all the happiness in the world he has been through so much and he continues to go through so much and I just wish I could take all his pain away.

Sometimes I just want us to run away, from all the pain, the terror, the loss, all of the would be gone and just be us to together, I've been thinking about it a lot lately I just don't think jace would ever leave all this behind.

I finished getting dressed and made a portal to magnus' as I walk in I see jace and I can see the spect of the heavenly fire tracing his skin trying to burst the flames into more. Jace looks like he is in so much pain trying to keep it all in.

As I am watching him a rune comes into my mind. Extinguish

I draw the rune on my hand and start walking toward jace, he looks up when he sees me and takes a step back

"Clary get out of here you need to leave.. please" I shake my head as he pleads

"I won't leave..let me help you" I tell him as I walk toward him and rest both my hands on his face slowly and press my lips to his.

As soon as my lips touch his, I can feel the burning heat leave his body and is replaced by the gentle warm ness the jace holds.

He slowly opens his eyes and hugs me. As were hugging magnus take it upon himself to scan jace.

He clears his throat and says " the heavenly fire isn't gone but it is out at the moment, the heavenly fire is made to be in flames for all eternity and now that it lives in you, but there may be a way for you to control it and use it... like a weapon"

Jace looks at him with his eyebrows furrowed " what are you trying to say, I can use the fire as a weapon.. how?"

"Well I don't know yet but maybe clary can help me or something but I don't know if it's best cause messing with the fire could enrage it, even though the fire is heavenly it still is fire and is very easy to lose control of "

Jace nods his head "well me not exploding is good for now... I don't need it as a weapon I got my training for that I think I'll stick with being normal for a little while longer"

I snorted " who said you were normal" I  said with a giggle.

Jace tackles me into the couch and starts tickling me

"Jace please stop I was kidding.. please I was kidding I love you I'm sorry.. haha please"

Finally he lets up and pulls me into his arms
"Thank you for helping me once again and for saving me again, you'll be like me in no time" he says with a grin

"Well it is the least I can do since I am the one who stabbed you with the heavenly fire sword... I'm the reason your like this" clary says

He grabs my face and has me look him in the eyes " you saved me I would rather have fire in my vein than still be connected to him" he leans forward and kisses my forehead. " I love you clary" I smile as I look him in the eyes "I love you jace so much" he gives me a kiss and then we make our way back to the institute
