We started eating our late dinner. It was Korean samgyupsal eat all you can where you will cook your own food. I love this kind of food since I can eat as to my heart's content. We were making chats while eating and I was really contented.
"Forth, can I have a sip in your drink? I want to know first if I like that before I get some" I asked him eyeing his blue lemonade. Mine is an Iced tea.
"Sure!" – he said and offered me his drink. I took a sip in his straw and smack my lips after.
"Hmmmm... it tastes good. I will get some" I started to raise from my chair but Forth stops me.
"I'll go get it for you. I also need to refill mine" he said while sipping from his remaining blue lemonade.
"Can I try your iced tea, Beam?" He asked. I offered him mine since my mouth is full of lettuce. He just gave me a smirk and started drinking from my straw.
"I will get an Iced tea so if you want an iced tea again, you can have mine" he continued.
I feel like we're used to doing this. This feels so natural and I think I'm not the only one thinking about it because apparently our group was just giving us a knowing smirk. Guys! Smirk is not a smile, it should be illegal and it looks creepy if multiple people gave it to you at the same time! Geez! Stop with the smirk already! I groaned inwardly.
Forth started his way to get a refill and I was left to deal with these busybodies. I kept my mouth shut but their pestering, asking for explanation, eyes were all into me. When I can't take it anymore, I just let an annoyed sigh let out.
"What?! If you have questions, just let it out." I said a little too defensively. Opps.
"You sure you're not boyfriends yet P' Beam? – Ming started. I just rolled my eyes into him.
"No Ming. What made you think we are together?" – I asked
"Because you were sharing a straw and he drunk from yours." – Pha
"That doesn't prove anything" Me
"Yes, it does, P' Beam. I remember when me and Yo were dining with P' Forth and Yo forgotten to use the serving chopsticks and dipped his own into our shared hot pot, P' Forth just stopped eating." – Ming
"We thought P' that it was just a coincidence and he was just full but we saw one time P' Forth having his lunch at his faculty's cafeteria, when P' Park drank from P' Forths' water bottle, P' Forth just tossed it away after. – Yo. I look at Park and Lam and they only nodded confirming Yos' assumption.
"I think you all are exaggerating this. This shouldn't be a big deal" I said dismissively to all of them.
"B1, I think we need to do a little experiment" – Lam to Park
"Why I am B1? I want to be B2" – Park
"Are you helping me with this, or not?" – Lam having no nonsense from Park. This duo is surely funny.
"Fine, What do you have in mind, B1? I'm B2. You are B1" – he agreed but stubbornly argued. Lam just shook his head in resignation. Park is stupid.
"Just follow my lead, B2." Lam said. Agreeing with Park. Park has a satisfied smile in his face.
I couldn't ask what they are planning to do since Forth is already walking towards us bringing a tray containing a lemonade, an iced tea, more meat, and some scallops. He knew I love scallops.
When Forth settled down, Lam nodded his head to me, all eyes on Forth and he has no clue on what's going on.
Lam inconspicuously moved his chop sticks towards Forths' spoon. They made contact and Forth saw it. He simply shrugged and took a different one discarding the one that made contact with Lam's chop sticks. Park made a peace sign and put down I finger. I get the message, 1 down, 1 more to go.
"Forth! Try this soju! Its good! Here! Have a sip!" Park offered his shot glass after emptying the content into his mouth and poured another one. Forth just shook his head and Park looks satisfied. He then offered the bottle to Forth. Forth took a different shot glass that was not used and pour for himself. He then drunk from it.
"Beam, would you like some? It is good" Forth offered.
"Yeah, Sure. Thanks". He then poured for me. Drank it and gave the empty glass back to Forth. He then poured another for himself and drank it.
Park and Lam look satisfied from their little experiment. While Yo, Pha, Kit and Ming nodded their head in understanding.
"Nothing my ass" said Kit in a hushed voice. Ming snickered and tried containing his laughter. Forth just raised his eyebrow in question.
"What is it?" – He voiced when no one answered his silent question.
"It's nothing, Forth. Really. We were just proving a hypothesis. There was a couple in the other table earlier and Beam told us they are not boyfriends but we all disagree. I don't know if Beam is being stupid or he's blind. The signs are there. So, me and Lam tried our hypothesis. Now, Beam saw the signs but still was in denial. He lost." Park narrated.
"I'm not denial Park. You all are just reading all the signs wrong and you all assumed too much" I tried dismissing Park because this is getting ridiculous and Forth is just inches away from me.
"Just drop it for now, Park. Beam has his own way of admitting defeat. I should know. I've known him since diaper days and believe me, he's as stubborn as a bull" - Pha Wow Pha! That's something coming from you. But before I can rebut, Forth already hushed Park and Pha and told them to continue eating which I happily complied since I don't know how to disproved them.
"What's you plan for the summer?" – Park enthusiastically asked after some time.
"We haven't made any just yet. We just wanted to survive our hell week of the exam" – Kit said in his tired voice.
"Yeah, this would be the most difficult one since by next year we will be doing our clinical exposure." – agreed Pha.
"How about you, nong Wayo and Nong Ming? Have you planned anything?" Lam continued.
"Not yet P'. Ming was still busy with his moon duty and the upcoming final exams while I'm helping him with the moon thing. I also have a busy schedule next week. I never thought taking up biology would be this tiring." Yo whined.
"But you did it anyway so you can follow P' Pha here." – Ming nonchalantly dropped the bomb on Yo. Yo automatically turned beet red. Kit smack Mings' shoulder. While Pha just smile.
"Cutieee" says Lam and Park at the same time which made Yo blushed more. I look at Forth since I knew at one point, he has feelings for Yo. Looking for any hurt or admiration in his eyes but I saw none. At some point Pha kissed top of Yo's head.
A chorus of "Boo's" and "show offs" can be heard in our little group. Again, I watch Forths' reaction. But nothing. He just looks like someone who is enjoying everyone's barter and company. He doesn't have the same look like the way he looks at me when he's looking at Yo. I noticed. It made my heart warm. I'm really in deep shit now" I made peace with myself.
