After some time, I awoken feeling cold. I stretched and felt an empty bed. Where is my human warmer? Maybe I freaked him out with my crying. I started.
I sat in bed and was rubbing my eyes. I felt rested but it was only 3am.
I got up and made a beeline to the personal ref to get some bottled water and I saw the balcony door ajar.
I saw a silhouette of a leaning man. I slowly walk towards him.
"Forth?" I asked
"I'm sorry, did I wake you up?" He asked apologetically.
"You did. The bed feels cold and empty without you" I said the truth.
A small smile was playing on his lips. Now I can see him properly, a canned beer in the left hand and a cigarette on the right. I pouted.
He looks at my disappointed look and follows my line of sight.
He raises his right hand with a cigarette in between his fingers.
"You don't like smoking?" he ask.
"I'm all out for drinking but smoking is out of the equation" I said truthfully now visibly pouting.
"You look irresistible when you pout, Beam. I hope you know that. And I might just kiss you senseless" he said mischievously.
"I'm not kissing an ashtray." I said.
He quickly put out his cigarette and throw the butt. He also crumpled and throw out a full pack that was on the table.
I smiled at his gesture.
"excuse me" he said and quickly dashed to the bathroom, I heard him gargle some water and was back.
I just laugh at him. He gave me a sly smile.
"sssooo... not sleepy?" I asked. Using my chin to point to the can of beer.
"I wasn't able to. But I planned of going back to bed I was just finishing but here you are" he said
"Did I freak you out?" I asked ashamed.
"Why do you think that?" He said sounding a little angry.
"I mean, I just woke you up from your slumber with, what I imagine, with my tossing and turning and crying" I said feeling the ashamed.
"No, Beam, you did not freak me out. I..." he looks like he wants to say more but stopped himself by drinking from his canned beer.
"Don't think that you will freak me out. Not now, not never. Remember that." He added.
Forth has been my confidant and apart from Pha which is my childhood friend and Kit, they are the ones that knows what was my past and saw me with my nightmares.
Maybe I can also confide with Forth. He proves himself to be a good confidant and I am very comfortable with him.
I think I owe him an explanation with my nightmares.
"Can I have some beer?" I asked. He looks at me but then went to the personal ref and took some.
He opened it and gave it to me. He also opened a new one for himself.
