CHAPTER 4

"P' Beam, is everything alright?" I was startled when I hear Yos' voice calling me out of my thoughts. Damn this kid and his keen observation.

"Huh?" I dumbly asked and raised my head after playing with my food.

"You look distracted, P" seconded by Ming. We were in a posh restaurant, having dinner after my "Talk" with forth earlier. I still can't shake off my uneasiness when Forth left me earlier.

"You really are the Casanova with a stone of a heart" I don't know why but this phrase has been in repeat mode inside my head, and I hate to admit that it bothers me. The way he said those words earlier and left me alone.

Don't get me wrong, being a Casanova I've heard worst. But it was all from my fling and one-night stands and all are girl. Maybe it was a first hearing it from someone I knew and a guy. Yep. Maybe that's it. Yeah. That's it. No other explanation.

I should try and talk with Forth. He's my friend and I really do enjoy his company. I said to me.

"Earth to Beam!!!" I was startled again. This time with Kit as he snaps his finger in front of me.

"Yeah, sorry. I was in deep thoughts." Í said sheepishly.

"No shit sherlock" -Pha

A chorus of laughs echoes our table gaining attention from other diners. Well, I really cannot blame them. With me are the finest specimen of mankind ever grace this earth.

I look around me a smiled with them. My best friend since diaper days Phana or Pha, the handsome genius of a devil. Don't be deceived with his manly look, he can tear you apart. He is our university moon last year. His with me through thick and thin and will always be in debt to him and his family.

Next is Kittitan or Kit (I call him kitty to annoy him) we meet him at junior high and was a welcome new member of our small gang. Since then, we were inseparable. Dimpled guy, short (don't tell him I said that) but very feisty.

Wayo or Yo also is with us. Long story short, he's been in love with Pha since junior high and tried to confess to him but failed. He followed him here at K.U. and they are together now. A cute little Prince. Very much pampered by his father who is the 2nd riches man in Thailand. Unfortunately for Yo, his mother died when he was still 3 years old. Maybe that's why his father is very protective of him.

and lastly, Mingkwan or Ming. Our current University Moon. He's Yo's best friend and I think he and Kit has something going on. Ming has a playful attitude that sometimes annoys Kit. We'll, that's how he is trying to show us but I can always see him blushing when Ming does something for him.

"So, do you mind sharing what's on your mind Beamie?" – Pha

"I've been stressed about many things, Pha, studies, bills, and bills. Same old" I said. I'm not entirely lying as he knows I really wanted to keep my scholarship to continue studying with them, but I need to use this card since this is always effective in shutting Pha up.

Everyone around our little group became silent and thoughtful. I don't want this. I don't need their pity. But it was effective in diverting everyone's attention from my real issue so it's a win for me! Yay!

"Beam, I told you not to worry about our Dorm rent. I got it covered already and we always have stocks inside our fridge. Mom just brought a truck full of groceries that will last us until next month" – Kit

"And tell me if you need more allowance. I'll tell mom and dad to send you more" – Pha

"No, Pha. They've gave me more than enough already." I said guilty.

"And Kit, Thank you. I will try to find another job as soon as possible to not be a burden to you too." – I continued.

See? I was blessed with friends that are very understanding and generous. They've been like this since I was orphaned 5 years ago....
