Part 45

KAITLYNN'S POV

"You really think I could live with you guys for three months?" I asked Sammy once we were alone.

"Yeah everyone likes you anyways and I know that we both don't want you to move away to New York. I just want you here beside me and I hope this works out."

"Me too babe. Thanks for your help!"

Later that evening I got a call from the police station. Apparently my mom had to talk to me about some important stuff there. So Sammy and I again drove down to the station. They had told me that Sammy should come as well because they had to sort something out about me living with him or something.

As we arrived my mom's lawyer walked us to the room in which my mom was waiting for us. (*AN: Idk much about jails and stuff so don't blame me please if I write something weird about the situation there or what happens to Kate's mom) 

Mr.Hood sat down right next to my mom while Sammy and I were sitting across from them.  

"Where is the contract that I have to sign?" My mom asked the lawyer.

"Right here. But at first explain your daughter what's going to happen."

"Okay so, Kaitlynn, I agreed on letting you live with Sammy until you turn 18.  And I know you've been going through a lot at school and you've been begging me all the time to finally let you go to online school. You're allowed to take online classes if you still work hard  on your grades and I also want you to get a job. So that you can get an apartment at some point and Sammy doesn't have to pay for you all the time. If something happens your dad would always welcome you in New York." She explained.

Why is she suddenly so nice to me? And that's exactly what I asked her.

"Your mother is willing to change for you and she wants to be a better mom. She's been talking to someone about her problems and it has already helped her."

"I don't know if I can really believe this but.. I don't know what to say."

"What about thank you?" Mr. Hood asked me.

"Thanks mom. It really means a lot to me that you're finally caring about me.."

Suddenly a police officer walked into the room. "Your time is over now." He said.

I nodded and after a quick bye I walked outside. Sammy was right behind me.

"Are you okay?" He asked me.

"Yeah"

"Kaitlynn I can see you're not. What's wrong? Everything in there went good right? Isn't everything just how you wanted it to be?"

"You're asking me what's wrong? Life, that's what's wrong. How can everything be how I wanted it to be? Have you also always wanted your mom to be arrested because of drug possession? Are you kidding me? I know I've always had a lot of problems with her but she still raised me and thanks to her I am who I am now and I love her to death. You don't realize how much it sucks to know that the person who you've known and loved your whole entire life suddenly ends up in jail. It seems like I didn't even know her.  My whole life was a lie. I feel like I don't have a family anymore. My mom's gonna be in jail for a couple years and my dad's always working. So no, I'm not okay."

"I'm sorry Kaitlynn, you don't deserve any of this. But yeah you're right I don't know how you feel. I wish I could understand you but I don't. Forget all that drama for tonight and let's just pack all your stuff so you can move in with in with me and the guy, we're your new family and we'll always be there for you. I love you Kaitlynn, never forget that."

"I love you too Sammy. Thanks for always being there for me."

8 pm. Sammy and I had spent the past few hours packing. Now I had all my important stuff in his car and we were driving to his house. We had also bought pizza so we could tell all the other guys the news and also eat together. I hope they won't be mad and will let me live with them for three months. I don't know if I have any other options left though.. "Don't worry Kate, everything will be fine." Sammy said looking at me. He must've noticed how nervous I was. "Focus on the street Sammy" I said laughing slightly.

And then we arrived. Leaving everything inside the car besides the pizza we walked to the front door holding hands. We walked into the kitchen where the Jacks and Nate were already waiting for us. We had told them that we were going to bring pizza. Now I just need to tell them the news.

"Okay guys so you've probably heard that my mom is going to jail and since I only turn 18 in three months which means that I can't live in my house by myself. We're actually going to rent my house for the next couple years. And Sammy offered that I could live here with you guys.. well is that okay with you all? I wouldn't be mad if you don't want me here so.." I spoke up.

"Why should that be a problem? Of course you can live here for a while! We're not gonna let you down and let you move away to New York." Johnson said smiling.

"Aw thank you! You're the best friends ever!" I replied and hugged them all.

"Actually we wanted to tell you something too." Sammy suddenly said. "Gilinsky, Johnson, Nate and I are all going on tour together. And we want you to come on tour with us! I think we really need a girl in our crew and since you don't go to a public school anymore that shouldn't be a problem I guess. We've already talked to your parents, they're fine with it."

"Wait for real? You want me to go on tour with you four?"

"Yes." They all responded.

"Wow thanks.. That sounds so amazing and I don't think you'd accept a no so yes, I will go on tour with you."
