The news about the pregnancy had spread quickly all over the city and everyone was so excited for the baby to be born as the baby will be the new Ragnvindr. Both Diluc and Jean received a lot of well wishes especially the father.

"Congratulations, Master Diluc. We all wish for your wife and the baby to be healthy as ever," said one of his customers while he was wiping the class behind the counter. Diluc happily thanked him. The tavern was quite lively that evening. Mondstadt locals visited the tavern to spend their time after their long day at work and to have the taste of the variety of delicious drinks there.

The tavern's door creaked opened and the bell on top of it rang. "Welcome," Diluc greeted and found Kaeya walked into the building. His long blue hair was messy, his usual outfit was untidy and he looked exhausted and tensed. "Are you okay?" Diluc asked while pouring the captain his favourite drink.

Kaeya took the glass and took a long gulp before answering the winery owner. "That damn Varka! He's even worse than Jean when she took the role as the Acting Grandmaster. He made me overworked almost every day now," Kaeya complained.

Diluc sighed. "Knowing you, you must've been slacking around again"

Kaeya put down his glass. "No I didn-"

"Yes, you did," a voice cut him. Both Diluc and Kaeya turned around and saw Eula was walking towards the counter and took a sit beside Kaeya. "You left your unfinished works and reports a lot and you asked the other knights to finish them for you. You're bullying them,"

"I'm not bullying them. It just that... office work is not my thing. You know I prefer to do my work on the battlefield instead writing those reports," Kaeya stated his excuses.

Eula sighed and took a sip of her drink. "You're a captain so of course you need to do those reports. I believe you haven't submitted your last mission's report?"

Kaeya put his head on the table. "You don't have to remind me of that," he stressed out. Diluc can only shook his head after hearing whatever his brother had done.

"You better finish them before our next mission," Eula reminded him. That caught Diluc's attention.

"You guys have another mission together?" Diluc asked the light blue hair captain. She nodded as a reply.

Kaeya lifted his head. "Yeah... we have another mission in three days. It was Master Varka's last minute plan," Kaeya explained.

After a few more hours of working in the tavern, Diluc decided to go home. As entered his mansion, Jean greeted him with a kiss and warm smile. "How's my wife and baby doing today?" he asked while rubbing Jean's little bump from her back. He had this warm feeling whenever he touched her belly, knowing their child was inside and growing.

Jean chuckled as Diluc lovingly kissed her neck. "We're fine," she replied. "But there's something I need to tell you," she turned to face him.

Diluc smiled. "Another mission?"

Jean's eyes widened. "How did you know?"

"Kaeya and Eula told me at the tavern just now," he answered.

"Oh..." Jean said. "So... can I go?" she asked him.

Diluc raised an eyebrow. "Do you think you can do it?" he asked her back. He didn't want to stop her to do whatever her job was but he just need to know her confidence since she was carrying their child. Even though her belly isn't that big, but he still worried about her safety.

Jean lowered her face. "Well, it's an important mission and quest from Master Varka himself so that's why most of the captains will be joining this operation. And it will only take a day," Jean explained.

Diluc gently pulled her and wrapped her body with his arms. He rested his chin on her head. "Well, it's a lie if I say I'm not worried about your and our baby's safety but seeing your confidence, I guess you will be fine," he said. He pulled himself and cupped her cheeks. Jean smiled and pulled him for a sweet kiss as her thank for him believing in her.

Diluc lowly sighed while shuffling through his paperwork in his comfy office. He then turned his head outside the window and for some reason, he felt an uneasy feeling in his heart as he stared into the cloudy sky. Would she be okay on her mission? What if something bad happened? It's about to rain and what if- those thoughts had been running around in his head for the whole day.

He shook his head to clear those negative thoughts and focus on his work but the restless feelings just won't go away. His worriedness was building in him and soon, that worriedness turned into his unwanted fear when Elzer suddenly burst into his office. "Master Diluc! You must to go to the Favonius Infirmary right now! Lady Jean is-"

Diluc left all his important works and rushed to the infirmary. "Where is she? What happened?"

"Follow me, Master Diluc," said one of the knights. The knight led him to a special unit room in the infirmary.

Jean was laying on her bed. Her head was wrapped with a bandage and she was unconscious. Her outfit had changed into a loose patient gown. Diluc rushed beside her and held her hand tightly. His heart was beating loudly in his chest and sweats started to form on his forehead. He then turned towards the doctor who was walking into the room. "What happened? Is she going to be fine? How's the baby?" he continuously asked him.

"Master Diluc... I-"

"Diluc," said a voice from the door. Diluc turned and found Kaeya was standing in front of the door. His head and hand were bandaged and there were few stitches on his cheek. His once sparkling eyes were now gloomy. "We were attacked by the enemy and... she was stabbed,"
