Knock. Knock.

The woman inside the building stopped whatever she was doing and moved her legs towards the door. "Who's that?" she asked from behind the door. She turned her head to the hanging clock on the wall. 1 am. Just who is knocking at this hour? She thought to herself. After a long silent, she decided to leave the door as she thought someone was playing around.

Not until she heard someone was crying in front of the door. The cry was getting louder and louder. "Who is that, Veronica?" said another voice from inside the building. Veronica turned her head and found her friend, Lily, was walking towards her, frowning.

"I don't know. I heard knockings and it went silence after a few moments and then the cry started," she explained. Lily gestured her to open the door. Veronica nodded and slowly open the door and shocked.

The cry came from a toddler, probably around two years old, sitting on the cold floor. Beside him, here was a baby basket covered with white cloth on top of it. Soon, another cry came out from the basket. The women quickly picked up the child and the basket inside the warm building and calmed them.

"Oh my, what's happening? Who are these children? Where did they come from?" Lily continuously asked while rocking the five months old baby in her arms.

Veronica shook her head. She wrapped a warm thick towel around the little boy's bod before feeding him with warm milk. As she was rocking the toddler to sleep, she pulled the basket beside her closer and found a paper inside it.

"As much as I love them, I couldn't afford to raise them alone and give them a good life they deserved. Therefore, I trust you to give them safe shelters and good foods for them to grow up.

Their names are..."

"Lucas, Emma. Come here," Veronica called them. Lucas and Emma stood up from the ground and went to her. "Someone wants to meet you two today," she smiled brightly. Lucas and Emma looked at each other confusingly. "Come on, they are waiting," Veronica told them.

Without wasting anymore time, they went inside the orphanage building and to the main hall. Lucas looked around to see who wanted to meet him and his sister.

"Lucas, Emma. Over here," Veronica waved her hand from across the hall. Lucas and Emma walked towards her and found two familiar adults were standing in font of her.

Lucas' eyes grew bigger when he realized who they were. The people who saved them two years ago. Diluc and Jean.

Diluc lowered himself to Lucas and Emma's level. "Hello, Lucas, Emma," he started. Emma started to make weird noises and hugged Jean's legs, making her got to the little girl's level.

"Hello, my dearests. How you two have been?" she smiled.

"We're great," Lucas happily replied. In his and his sister's eyes, both Diluc and Jean were their heroes, as they saved them from the incident two years ago. Almost every day after the event, they wished that they can meet their heroes again. And here they were. The children can't stop carving big smiles on their cute faces. "What brings you here?" Lucas' curiosity took over him.

Diluc warmly smiled. "I heard today is Emma's birthday," he turned to Emma. Emma's smile grew bigger and she nodded.

"Are you going to give Emma a birthday present? What is it? What is it?" Lucas jumped happily.

Diluc and Jean chuckled at the two excited children in front of them. "Well, yes. We're going to give Emma a birthday present and we have a special gift for you two, Lucas," Jean replied the young boy.
