*Hange's POV*
I lazily opened my eyelids blinking several times to adjust my eyesight. I picked up my phone to check the time.
6:49 it said. I looked longer trying to remember what time work started. Then it hit me. Stay one extra minute in bed and I was certainly late for work again.
I went into panic mode and quickly got up heading for the bathroom. I was living with Levi under the condition to shower at least 5 times a week. This guy's a clean freak. After I got out of the shower and got dressed, I snatched my bag running downstairs to find Levi sitting there looking down at his tea as if trying to study it. Next to him was a piece of toast and hot chocolate, with a packed lunch. I turned to him again. He clearly haven't seemed to notice my presence.
I sat down next to him, trying to act patient but hurrying up at the same time. He slowly turned his head to face me.
"I figured you'd over sleep. But I didn't bother waking you up. So I decided to make you a small breakfast" , he told me checking his watch "Also best to hurry that up, I think you're late. Actually, you probably are"
He was right. I rushed my breakfast as Levi's three other workers stormed in and setting things ready for the day. Levi got hold of his car keys as I stared at him in confusion wiping the crumbs off my mouth.
"Levi? Are you going out too?"
"No dumbass. I'm dropping you off. Get into the car"
I was late so I didn't bother arguing with him. We set off only to encounter an insanely heavy traffic. This wasn't happening. I was gonna be late. No changing that. After spending a long enough time at the traffic, we got to the school. He parked the car and stared intensely at the large school buildings.
"Attack Titan high school?"
I nodded jumping out of the car.
"I heard its a good school. And you teach here? Cool"
I nodded still in rush to leave. I turned around just to see Erwin walking towards my direction. I shut my eyes on anger and turned around to look at Levi.
"Hange!"
"Morning, Erwin sir. I really should get going. See you, Levi"
Erwin looked behind me staring at Levi before facing me again.
"Who's your friend?" , he asked me with a raising one of those thick eyebrows of his.
"It doesn't matter. I really need to get going sir"
Levi waved "I'll pick you up"
I had only a few minutes to set up the lesson for my first class. The first three lessons went by. And then lunch. I was at my desk, enjoying the lunch Levi prepared for me when I heard a quiet knock at the door. I looked at the direction where the knock came from. It was Nanaba. Unbelievable.
"Close the door behind you", I told her harshly. She sighed and stepped in, truly closing the door behind her.
" Hans, we need to talk"
"No."
She got one of the students' chairs and sat in front of me. After a long silence I lifted my head.
"What have you got to say? Be quick with it"
"Hans, I know sorry isn't enough for what I did. I betrayed you as a best friend. You have every right to be mad at me. You have every right to hate me. I worked behind your back and did something awful. We're adults. I should've done known better than to date your boyfriend causing him to cheat on you. You don't have to forgive me but from now on, I really will try to make it up to you. And if it helps you, I'll break up with him today"
"Don't. I'm not angry at you. I'm just upset. But do what makes you happy. You and Moblit. I would want to be happy too"
Nanaba broke down into tears after hearing what I said. I don't know what I was thinking when I quickly got up to hug her. She hugged me back trying to catch her breath.
"I'm so sorry. I'm really sorry. None of this was intended to hurt you. I heard how you found out and I know that must have been painful for you. I'm so sorry"
"Its okay. You don't have to break up with him. I've moved on from him. Now stop crying". I let out a little laugh "look at us acting like a bunch of love deprived teenagers"
We both laughed it off as she got up, putting the chair back. The bell went and I groaned as Nanaba giggled walking out of the classroom. Last two lessons of the day went smoothly. I felt less stressed. And just as said, Levi was there to pick me up. I waved at Nanaba as she left and got in smiling.
"I see you and her are now in good terms", he said keeping his default face. I nodded and he started the car. It was quiet at the start but half way through the journey, I decided to break the silence with anything random. The quietness irritated me and I wanted to end it.
" have you tried drinking? ", I asked.
"No... But I know you have", he replied looking at me from the corner of his eyes. I grew hot with embarrassment. Probably not the best question to have asked.
" Oh. You still remember. I thought everyone would've forgotten. I guess you didn't"
He sighed "No, four-eyes. Of course I won't forget, I was the victim."
I tried changing the subject. "So Petra's coming tonight?"
He nodded.
"Will she be alright with me around"
"She has to be. I made it clear you'd be living with me."
" how did that go? "
"Let's just say she didn't find it funny. Took a while to convince her"
I showed him a faint smile then randomly began fidgeting with my fingers. I looked outside the window trying to find something to keep me entertained. Eventually I saw the words "Ackerman Cafe" and knew we had arrived "home".
We both got down. The cafe hadn't closed yet. I went up to my room and fell on the floor breathing out. Things were slowly starting to get better. And I was starting to get over Moblit. Slightly. Sometimes I had the feeling I wasn't good enough and sometimes didn't. But life goes on.
It had been a few hours and I finally decided to go to the living room. I sat down reading a book I had gotten from our school's library. It wasn't any science book. I pretty much knew everything in the science books from front to back. I got a reading book. I had been a few pages in when I heard laughing and the door leading to the living room swing open. Petra was here. As soon as she caught sight of me, she glared. Please tell me she isn't turning this all into some competition. Levi waved at me and sat down next to me as Petra headed for his room.
"What are you reading?" , he asked taking it, attempting to read the words at the back.
"Levi, you've got the book upside down" , I told him turning it round the right way. "How to be a woman"
He looked at me in surprise "you'll definitely need it then. You are far from what I'd consider a woman". I let out a boisterous laugh wafting my hand around like a maniac. Just as I was about to reply, Petra stormed in. She was in shorts way high above knee length and a crop tank top.
" Levi? Are you coming now or later? ", she questioned him.
"After dinner. Should we order something?"
"Oh yeah. But you can choose whatever we're ordering"
"No you can"
They spent an entire five minutes deciding on who out of two of them should pick what we were having. And eventually, Petra chose pizza. Was it that hard to come up with that from the start.
I wasn't sure why, but during the whole dinner, I had a strange feeling I wouldn't enjoy tonight. Petra was constantly giggling. Levi's arms around her waist and they were really close together. Really really close. I hated it. And it was a shame I had no one to hold me like that anymore. All I could do was sit at the other side of the table and watch them flirt with each other.
I hated every bit of it.
A/N: Lucky you. An early update of Chapter 14. I had nothing useful to do so I decided to do this instead. I will say I am very proud of myself. This is the very first longest chapter I've ever written. Standing at just over 1.5k words. I'm proud of myself 😌😌😌. Well, I hope you are enjoying Levihan - Lovestruck. Writing does require creativity lol and I have a headache from thinking. 😭 but tysm for reading.
