Harry startles at the sound of Aiden's knock. He picks up his wand and ends the spells helping his meal preparation along. The knife stops chopping, and the spoon in the thick stew stops stirring. He flicks his wand and casts a couple of spells to keep the pictures from moving, close the Floo, and prevent the house from doing anything unusual while Aiden is there. He tucks it into the back of a drawer and goes to answer it.
"Hi," he says.
Aiden gives him a shy smile. "Hi."
"I'm still making dinner," Harry says over his shoulder, "do you want to come down to the kitchen with me?"
"Sure."
Aiden leans against the edge of the counter and watches as Harry finishes chopping the carrots and dumps the last of them in.
"That just needs to simmer for about thirty minutes," he says. "And then we can eat."
"I'm sure we can think of something to fill the time," Aiden grins at him.
Harry laughs and reaches out, catching the edge of his shirt and tugging him closer.
"Oh, yeah?"
