"What was that about?" Loki asked me as we did the dishes together. I shrugged my shoulders and plunged my hands into the hot, soapy water. "You hands are red!" He exclaimed and grabbed my hands out of the water. "Ow." He said, dropping my hands and rubbing his own.
"That's because the water is hot. Baby face." I said, scrubbing a dirty plate. He nodded and kept drying.
Suddenly I felt hands wrap around my waist and I shrieked, throwing my hands in the air. As the bubbles fell down I turned and saw Steve. "Oh my gosh, you scared me." I said, sticking my hands back into the hot water. He let go and turned to Loki, "I'll take over from here." He reached for the towel but Loki pulled it back.
"I like doing this." He said, defensively. Steve turned to me and looked me in the eyes. "Avallone, can I talk to you?" I shrugged and replied with, "Whatever you have to say, say it here. I'm busy and I don't want to leave." He blushed but listened to me. "You told me you liked me, but," He waved his hand at Loki, "The way you treat him makes me think different."
I sighed and stopped scrubbing. Turning, I saw everyone staring at us. Eh, what harm could it be? I've already been embarassed enough. 'You know the answer to that.'
"Would you stop that?!" I said, turning to Loki. He just smirked and took the plate that happened to be in my hand. Behind me I felt Steve tense up and he grabbed the plate off Loki. "Enough. Answer my question."
I turned to him and sighed. "You know Captain. How I treat him, is no different then how I treat the others. If you are going to be worried about me then fine, forget it." I said, biting on my lip to keep the tears from flowing over. He looked a bit taken back and then he just turned and walked out of the room.
"Great." I cursed under my breath but didn't follow him. The room filled with an awkward silence and I finished up the dishes with Loki. I turned to him and he nodded, reading my mind.

I ran past Steve's room and into the training room. "Steve!" I yelled so he could hear me above the sound of his punches. He stopped and rested his head against the punching bag. He turned to me, "Yes?" I sighed and walked over to him.
"To be honest, I do like you. I don't even like Loki. He is a pain. I just thought that it would be stupid to say in front of ev-" He shut me up by kissing me.
Once again my mind screamed at me. This isn't right. He isn't the one. He pulled back first and smiled. "I'm glad that you don't like that Asgardian." I nodded and snuck away, leaving him to continue punching the bag.

"So, how's the Cap?" Tony said as I walked into the lounge. I blushed and said, "Good." He raised his eyebrows at me, catching the tone I hard tried to hide. I looked at him and shook my head minutely.
"Lady Avallone," Thor said. I glanced at him and he stood up. "May we go for a stroll?" I nodded and he held out his arm. Taking it, he and I walked out of the room.
"Where are we going?" I asked him as he led me down the hallway. "The ball room." He stated as we reached the door. I stared at him and he said, "That shall be our stroll." I laughed and decided not to argue.

We strolled along the edge of the ball room for a few minutes in silence. Then he suddenly piped up and said, "So, is there something going on between brother and you?" I looked at him, stunned that he was just so straight forward. I laughed it off. "No." He smiled and we kept walking. "How is Jane?" I asked, trying to break the silence that wanted to reign. He blushed to himself and said, "She is good. But she doesn't know that you are still alive. Maybe we shall visit her soon then?" I nodded in agreement and we kept walking.
Silence reigned now and I knew there wouldn't be much more talking so I dived into my thoughts.
I have feelings for Captain but I realize that I am developing feelings for the god of mischief. No this can not be happening. No, no, no! I thought, I'm falling for the wrong guy.
