A/N: This is the poem that won first place at the talent show. The video was attached above. Enjoy :)

I met him forever ago
Somewhere in the middle of a friendship
Somewhere between the stiff heartbeat of "stay away"
And the quiet shine of "what if"
What if he chases dragons
What if he prays for every bird with clipped wings
What if he is the moment of silence in the mosh pit of your head
What if he is the gentle hurricane of everything gone right
What if he dreams for sunsets
And writes for heart breaks
What if you will never know

2 months later
I met him forever ago
Somewhere between all the advice I ignored
Somewhere between the friends I shut out
I remember that his hands were continents
I thought I held oceans in my palms

4 months later
I met him forever ago
Sometimes I wonder if he remembers how my smile wilted
How my flower petal pulse changed with the seasons of his eyes
How I turned the music up so loud that couldn't hear his beautiful toxic
His beautiful toxic
Mangling my straight lace heart
My straight lace heart can't take any more of this emotional pollution
You cannot force the weight of two onto the shoulders of one

Present Day
It's funny, really, because he always liked people with a little more
A little more strength
A little more fist fight
A little more "I dare you"
A little more I'm sorry
A little more it's my fault
And a little less goodbye.
