Chapter 5: Secrets of the Amulet ~ Part 1

In the vet clinic...

Rosy was given a white cone around her neck to prevent her from talking, so that her throat won't end up being worse than having a sore. Runa could be seen walking out of the vet clinic along with her five chao friends. She noticed how uncomfortable Rosy is and how she knew it was for her own good. She turned to Rosy with an apologetic look on her face.

"I'm sorry, Rosy. It's for your own good."

Rosy turned to Runa and nodded in response. According to Runa's intuition, it's a sign that says, "It's okay. I know it's for my own good."

As she was standing on the street in front of the vet clinic, her chao friends flew back onto their feet. After that, Bearace turned his head to Runa.

"Chao, chao-chao-chao?"

Roughly translated, "So, what do we do now?"

Runa then, made contact with the ground. She closed her eyes tightly racking her brain on what to do next. Maybe she's going back to the Flicky Forest? Or visit the Chao Garden near the cottage?

As Runa was racking her brain on what she's going to do, a familiar enthusiastic voice joined in.

"There you are, sis!"

She and the five chao turned to see Aleyah and her parents walking their way to her. Aleyah still had an enthusiastic smile on her face.

"We've been looking everywhere for you! In all honesty, we thought you were still at the Flicky Forest!" she said to her.

"Is something wrong?" Runa asked her.

"Chao. Chao-chao-chao?" asked Bearace. This simply means. "Yeah. What's wrong?"

"We were gonna ask Rosy the same thing!" said Bruce.

"Chao," Rosy responded in a barely audible, voice-cracked tone.

Runa's eyes were looking away while her eyelids were half-opened. Her nead tilted to her right and her left hand was clenching her right upper arm. "It's a long story."

"It's okay, Runa. We'll have plenty of time during or after our stay in the Restoration HQ," said Pearla.

"Chao-chao?" Juniper asked if they're going to the Restoration HQ.

"Oh, you're asking if we're going to the Restoration HQ? Yes. Jewel needs you for something important," said Aleyah.

"Really? What's that?" asked Runa in confusion.

"You'll see when we get there!" answered Bruce.

With that being said, the hedgehog family headed towards the Restoration HQ along with the five chao.

In the Restoration HQ...

As Runa looked around at the surroundings, her eyes were filled with interest and awe. Same goes with the chao.

"Chao-chao," stated Mystico.

"You're right, Mystico. It's really amazing," replied Runa.

Then, she felt a nudge on her left shoulder. By her presence, she knew it was none other than Aleyah. "That's because it's you and your chao friends' first time here, silly!"

Runa let out a light chuckle as she closed her left eye by the feeling of Aleyah's expression. "Heh-heh. Right. Heh-heh-heh."

Just then, a familiar and adventurous voice joined in. "Hey, guys! How's it going?"

This somehow startled Runa and the five chao as the group snapped their heads towards Tangle. Her tail was hanging on the balcony rail. Seeing Runa and the chao's startled expression, her enthusiastic expression turned into a sheepish one. "Oh, sorry. Didn't mean to startle you."
