Chapter 22: The Great Christmas Experience

The next day...

It was Christmas day and everyone was having a wonderful time. Snowmen were built by kids. Some residents were skiing. Some others were riding a toboggan. Some were ice skating. Others began a snowball fight. Still, many presents were given to them and carols were sung.

Right now, Aleyah was sitting on the snowy hill watching how everyone was having fun and celebrating Christmas day. Her legs were risen and her arms were wrapped around her knees. Her lips stretched out a smile as she took a deep breath and exhaled in relaxation.

It's been a while since I saw snow. Well, at least Silver and I are in a peaceful future, so... she thought.

Right from he distance was Silver with a taped paper bag in his hands. His head looked down at the present, then back to Aleyah. He took a deep breath and exhaled to calm his nerves.

I hope Aleyah will like this, he thought.

He then, started approaching his way towards her and sat beside her. On her right. His gift to Aleyah was also sat slightly between his right and behind him.

"Oh, hi Silver! How ya doing?" Aleyah asked him.

"I'm good. Thanks," he answered.

After a while of silence and watching how a lot of people were having fun, Silver was the first one to speak up.

"Amazing, isn't it?"

"Yeah, it is!" answered Aleyah.

"Back when my time is full of flames and ruined buildings, I wished there was snow, but I never got to see it. Now that it's peaceful, I'll finally get to see it."

"The snow?" she asked him.

"Not just the snow. All these people. Living happily in this world," he answered.

Aleyah let out a giggle. "I know what you mean, Silver. But there are times when evil starts to strike and destroy our future. I mean, ever since I met you, it's like no one can predict the future and from the beginning... I want to make the world a better place. And when I'm with you... it's like we both want the same thing."

"To make a world a better place. Even for the future," he said.

"Exactly," she said.

You can see Silver slightly looking at the present as a blush started igniting on his cheeks. After a while of silence, he was finally ready to give Aleyah a present. "H-Hey, Leyah."

"Yeah?" she responded turning to him.

He turned to her. "I-I have something that..." he stuttered as he touched the back of his neck in nervousness. "...that will make you h-happy."

With that being said, he dragged his present to his front. Once Aleyah saw it, she let out a bright gasp. "A present for me? Aw, Silver! You shouldn't have!" She then, brought it close to her.

Silver closed his eyes tightly. He was really nervous on how she's gonna react once she saw his present.

When Aleyah removed the tape from the top of the paper bag and opened it, she gasped happily to see a sunset orange sparkly dress, just like she wanted.

"A sunset orange sparkly dress that laid down until my legs?!" she said pulling it out halfway.

Then, she rose from her sitting position, pulled the dress out completely and held it close to her chest.

"It's just like the one I wanted!"

Silver opened his eyes and saw how she examined it. After a few moments, she felt even happier than before. "Now, I find it more fabulous than in the picture!"

"D-Do you... like it?" Silver asked her rising to his standing position.

"Like it?! I love it!" she said twirling around still holding her new dress. "I will definitely wear this in every occasional event!"

Once she put the dress back in the paper bag, she lunged forward to give Silver a big teddy-bear hug. "Thank you, Silvy! Thank you!" she said happily.

Silver blushed as she called him a nickname for the first time, then he hugged her back. After a few moments, the two pulled away. That's when a reminder popped in Silver's head.

"Oh, Leyah."

"Yeah, Silver?" she responded optimistically, retrieving the paper bag.

"I-I have something to tell you... for, uh... a long time."

"Okay, go ahead," she said.

Nervousness occurred in him and you can hear him stuttering,"W-Well... y-you see... I..." Either way, he knew it was now or never, so he took a deep breath and exhaled, then he looked at Aleyah into her eyes. "Ever since I first met you on you and Runa's last birthday party, I can't help, but smile at your enthusiasm. I went out in the garden to pick flowers to make a bouquet for you as a present to show you how much I mean to you. When I saw you in my time, I had a feeling that I want to help you and as we travel through time together, it's like we're helping each other and it makes me more... happy. And Leyah... I-I love you. A-And I was wondering if we... well, uh."

Aleyah became shocked as she heard every word he said. When she heard the last few words, she finished his sentence questionably,"If we wanna go out on a date?"

He blushed as red as a tomato. He slightly looked away, then back at her. "Y-Yeah."

That's when she gave him a genuine smile,"Of course, Silver! I'd love to!" Then, she hugged him and he hugged her back instantly.

It lasted for a few moments before they pulled away. Then, after another few moments of silence, Aleyah asked Silver,"So where to?"

"Who knows? Maybe we'll have a Christmas date?" he replied questionably.

Then suddenly, an idea popped into Aleyah's head. "I know!" she turned to him. "Let's race downhill!"

"Great idea, Leyah!"

"Okay! Winner must decide which place to date!"

Silver let out a laugh. "You're on!"

Then, they both raced downhill. By doing a few tricks including sliding on their bellies.

In the end, it was Silver, who went down the hill first. They had a great laugh. It was fun racing downhill. Silver decided to experience and explore all Christmas activities since he hadn't done anything in his time and Aleyah promised she will help him since she's experienced having Christmas fun with her family.

And as they did all of this, they were all having fun and even more fun when helping each other! Best Christmas ever!
