Chapter 28: A Secret Valentine ~ Part 2

"You again?!" asked Bruce glaring at Bianca.

"Yes, me. And now that I know how much your adoptive daughter feels for him, I'm going to make sure she knows that SHADOW'S MINE!!!!!" said Bianca raising a whip and then, she clicked it with a force.

This snapped the citizens into panic as they began to back off giving the scene some space.

Shania went at the very front and formed a defensive stance. Her eyes were glaring daggers towards Bianca.

"Oh, not to worry, Shania. I'll play nice," said Bianca.

"Chao-chao-chao-chao?" Mystico asked Shania if the two know each other.

"Chao-chao," Shania nodded in response.

That's when the whip went straight towards the group. Shania almost evaded in a backflip, resulting in a small scratch on her right arm. Shania held her right arm where she had somehow been hit.

Both Bearace and Juniper swooped in front of Shania for protection. Their defensive stances were formed, but by the time Bianca started whipping towards them, they evaded them and terrifyingly backed off.

"You go run, Bruce and I will deal with Bianca," Pearla told Runa and t he five chao.

Rosy turned to Pearla with puppy eyes. "Chao-chao, chao-chao!"

"Rosy's right. You and adoptive dad don't wanna be involved in a real battle. If you two would be in battle, you would end up being in grave danger," said Runa.

"No worries, Runa. We're doin' this for your own good. Promise us you'll keep yourself and your friends safe and sound," said Bruce.

"Same goes with those who care about you and vice versa," said Pearla.

"It's the same thing," Bruce told Pearla.

Pearla's eyes were fixed on Runa. "Please, Runa. Get out of here. Find a safe place for you and the chao to live safely."

Runa began to hesitate. "I..."

It took a few moments before a medium-sized wooden wagon suddenly appeared on her left. Everyone turned around to see none other than both Tangle and Whisper. Whisper was seen peeking her head out, pointing her wispon at Bianca. Tangle was seen reaching her hand to Runa.

"Come on! This is a serious situation!" she told her.

Runa turned her head from Tangle to her adoptive parents, then back to Tangle. Then, knowing that there's no other choice, her hand reached to hers. Tangle started pulling her up inside the wagon while the five chao flew themselves in with her.

With that, Runa shifted her direction to her adoptive parents. With smiles on their faces.

"Take care of her, will ya!" Bruce told Tangle.

"No worries! We always got her back!" Tangle said winking while giving him a thumbs up.

"And remember, we'll always be there for you whether we're together or not," said Pearla.

Runa's face was plastered with sadness, slight regret, hesitation and slight fear. It felt like it would be the last time her adoptive parents were on sight.

With that, the wispon began bursting in speed resulting in a wagon taking off.

Meanwhile with Shadow...

"Rover the Lizard?" asked Rouge suspiciously with her hands on her hips.

"Why yes. After all, I could use a little friend here," answered Rover with a usual smirk on his face.
