Chapter 13: The Wallflower Ninja ~ Part 1

Espio was seen walking to the park. And in this grassy, calm and breezy environment, his thoughts were running in his head.

It's a good thing we have our day-off. It's been a few days since I met her. She's a chameleon and also a well-trained ninja. Just like me. Right now, curiosity begins to take over me. Some kind of force is pulling me to get to know her. Or perhaps, become friends with her.

With that being thought, he recalled the time where he first met the female chameleon somewhere in the park.

A few days earlier...

Things were quite noisy in the Chaotix Detective Agency Office. Because Espio didn't want to get himself completely stressed out, he went to the park to meditate. The spot where he was meditating was under the shade of one of the trees.

Then, suddenly, a faint noise started ringing in his ears. This lead him to fling himself on his feet and forming a battle stance. His head looked around cautiously to see if anyone was there. That's when he heard the sound again, this time, a slicing sound. He then, started running to where the sound came from. In the forest-like park, the same sound he heard started increasing in his ears.

In the end, it lead him to...

Another chameleon.

But not just another chameleon. She was a female maroon chameleon with eyes that are as green as grass, with three short dreadlocks on each side, peach muzzle and she wore a gray and green GI with black gloves and gray boots.

He was impressed with her ninja skills and her katana skills. It seemed like she didn't notice him coming. When she made a final jump, a final slice with her katana and stuck the landing, she panted softly that she decided to give herself a break and moved on.

"Who is that?" he asked himself speechless, though unfortunately, he didn't get a chance to greet her.

Present day...

Now, Espio became invisible and was walking to the same forest where he had first met her. This time, instead of training to become a ninja, she was meditating. This impressed Espio even more since even ninjas need a small break from training. One including their meditation.

After a few minutes, the maroon chameleon felt like someone was staring at her. She quickly went on her feet. Then, she grabbed the slinged bag that holds her katana, puts it around her with the katana on her back, grabbed it and went into fighting stance. She looked around cautiously seeing if anyone's there.

A few moments later, she said,"Whoever you are, come out!"

Immediately, Espio turned visible and started showing himself like she said to. A facial expression on his face told her that he's not the enemy.

Seeing his facial expression, this left her relieved, but she still didn't know if she could trust him, so she put her katana back where she got it.

"What is it that you want?" she asked him.

"I was meditating under the nearest tree when I heard a sound causing me to have cautious battle stance. I looked around to see if anyone's there. A moment later, I heard a sound that led to you. I have to admit, I was impressed with your ninja skills especially with your katana. In the end, I haven't got to tell you how much I appreciate them," Espio explained to her.

She chuckled, a small red blush appearing on her cheeks,"Thanks. I really appreciate that."

"You're welcome. My name is Espio," he introduced himself. "What's yours?"
