You pressed your face against the table, feeling Yu poking at your head. "Hey! Is Y/N still in there or is it still an embarrassment?"

Your head shot up and you grabbed scissors, holding it at Yu's neck. "Say that again, you little disappointment." Nora and Kaya laughed, nearly knocking over a glass of water on their homework.

"Come now, my mom's still home." Yu said with his hands raised and his mouth twisted into a teasing smirk. "Don't kill me yet."

"These are craft scissors." You laughed and put them down. "The worst they can cut is that cardboard used for packing food."

Shindo rolled his eyes and pushed up his glasses, looking back down at his homework. "Don't annoy her, Yu. She could very easily destroy your already scarred reputation."

You nodded with crossed arms.

"Right, right. The whole 'singer' thing." Yu leaned back onto his wall, almost knocking down a photo of him and his mom. "But don't talk about my scarred reputation like that! It's not that bad. My mom's still home, too!"

"Drop the whiny act." Kaya gently pushed his and leaned on her hand. "We all know that you don't care."

Yu laughed as he tilted back his head. "You know me too well, little Kaya. It's cute."

"If you want a girlfriend at any point in your life, I'd recommend not flirting with random people." You aligned your papers at the table and placed them in a neat pile. "I'm finished."

You pulled out your phone and saw that Miya had messaged you.

Sorry abt class earlier

You smiled and texted back.

It's fine ✌️

"Who's that?" You jolted and moved back, seeing Hina looking over your shoulder. "W-Why do you want to know?"

"Because you smiled at your phone."

You pushed her away. "Mind your business, child." She deadpanned and began reaching for your phone. "I'm older than you."

You pulled away but then Nora took your phone and all four of them gathered around it. "Hey!"

"Oh, it's Miya!"

"KAYA!!"

"Who's Miya?" Shindo took the phone and pushed up his glasses again. "Ah, the skater. I didn't know you knew him."

"H-He's just a friend of my brother's!"

"Hm. I wasn't aware that your brother was a skater as well."

Your face got hot and you snatched your phone from him, stuffing it into your pocket. "Shut up. Do your homework." And you rested your chin on Yu's coffee table.

"Aw, we were just teasing." Yu tapped your nose and looked back at his homework.

Your phone buzzed again and everyone suddenly gathered around you as you turned it on. "It's just Langa." And they sighed and leaned back in their seats.

With a scoff, you opened your phone and read the message. "Oh, guys, I've gotta go. I'll see ya tomorrow, okay?" They all nodded and you made your way out the door.

You looked to the left and saw Yu's older brother's skateboard and smiled a bit, trotting down the steps and making your way down the sidewalk, still unconsciously stepping over the gaps like a child.

You pulled out your phone and dialled Kotaro's number. "Hello! Can you come pick me up from Yu's house?"

Soon enough, a black car pulled up beside you and you hopped inside. "To Kojiro's restaurant, please!" You leaned back in the front seat and shut your eyes, but didn't sleep.

"You seem happy. Did something happen?"

"...Nah."

You clutched your phone in your hands as Miya's last message played in your head.

I see... you shouldn't feel uncomfortable to be alone with me, you know? We're friends, remember?
