Chapter Fifteen | Your Friends

You stayed on your phone texting the group chat as Miya sat next to you, gripping the hand you weren't using in a cold sweat. "Are you okay?"

"Your friend Shindo is a lot smarter than me."

"Yeah, so? His entire family is. Well, except for his dad apparently. Shindo says his IQ turned to height at birth, since he's almost 7 feet tall."

"Helpful. Very helpful."

Reki turned to his feet. "Seven feet tall?! How tall is that?" He counted as if that would help him determine Shindo's dad's height. "That's... really... tall..."

"He's actually a pretty nice guy." Langa assured. "He helped me repaint my skateboard last weekend."

"I could've helped!"

It was Miya's turn to lean over. "Jealous much?" You nodded.

The car came to a halt and Shadow turned back at the two of you. "We're here. We can pick you up after if you want." Miya have a dismissive "yeah, yeah" and said, "I'll text you when it's time to go."

You pulled him into the diner by his hand and saw your friends seated at a booth near the back. "Hey guys!"

"Took you long enough."

"Your mom just pulled in a few minutes ago, idiot." You sat down at the table and pulled Miya next to you. "Guys, this is Miya. Miya, you know Nora and Kaya, that's Yu, Shindo, and Hina."

The three waved and Miya gave an awkward nod to say, "Nice to meet you."

"So when's your next concert again?" Shindo asked as he brought out his phone.

"Um, next month. I might have to be absent next week because we need to set up."

"I see."

Yu rolled his eyes and leaned back. "You act so serious all the time! That one joke you made a few weeks ago was funny! Now what?"

"Boys, quit it!" Nora looked Miya in the eyes. "So how'd you and Y/N meet again?"

"Through her brother. We became friends a few years ago." Kaya tapped her chin. "Y/N, isn't your brother in college now?"

"Nah, he ended up being a full time worker at Dope Sketch. He's planning on being a professional skateboarder though." You grinned. "Because of a certain somebody."

"The red haired one, right?" Kaya's eyes lit up following Nora's question and she put her hand over yours. "Those two were acting so cute!"

Hina laughed and moved her maroon hair behind her shoulder. "Isn't that what you always think?"

"It is because I'm right!"

Yu put his hand over yours. "So, anyone you like in particular, Y/N~?"

"Aw, quit it, Yu!" You moved your hand from under his and let it fall next to you. Once you felt the leather of the seat under your palm, you felt another hand place their hand over yours.

"What about you?" Miya began staring in Yu's direction. "Anyone in school taking your interest?"

"Not really."

You chuckled. "So you're single in two genders then."

"HEY!!"

The table erupted into laughter and Hina put her hand on Miya's to gain his attention. "Yu here is openly bisexual, in case you didn't get it."

You saw this from the side of your eye and squeezed Miya's hand. "Anyways, have you ordered anything yet?"

"Just Miso soup for now." Shindo answered, pushing up his glasses. "Is there anything you wanted specifically?"
