It was about half an hour into practice when we had a water break.

"Girls, hurry up with your water breaks! I need to go get my textbook before they block the hallways off for the night, so I'll be right back," Rachel declared.

She and I were co-captains, so she also got to boss people around. It was pretty much the only thing she was good at. She skipped off down the hall while we all drank from our water bottles.

"Argh, sometimes she can really get on my nerves," Piper McLean, the youngest cheerleader said, clenching her fists. She said what everyone was thinking. Her chocolate brown hair was cut choppy and uneven with thin strands braided on either side. Colourful feathers were also in her hair that looked really cool.

"I know what you mean," Lacy said. She was Piper's half-sister.

"Girls, we really need to talk about the pyramid. Calypso, you're defiantly at the top, but we need some more cheerleaders to flip while we hold up Calypso..." I said, continuing on with my lecture.

After ten minutes, Rachel wasn't back. She probably broke a nail and was screaming at the janitor like he was her therapist or something. It actually did happen once. I was there and it was hilarious.

"I'll go find her," I groaned, walking out of the gym.

I headed towards her locker when I saw Annabeth. She was standing behind a door, spying on someone.

"What are you doing?" I whispered. I looked and saw the scene. Rachel and Connor Stoll were sucking each other's faces off. What in Hades? My teeth clenched up and I angrily marched out of my hiding place.

"Rachel!" I screamed. Connor's hands flew up while Rachel sneered at me and placed her hands on her hips. She positioned her chin a little higher as if she was trying to be taller than me. I didn't work. I was always going to taller then her even if she was on her tippy toes.

"Uh, hello, every heard of privacy?" she screeched.

I couldn't believe what she was saying. "Not when you're dating my best friend!" Our voices echoed though the hallways.

I turned to Connor Stoll and furrowed my eyebrows and glared at him. "And you, Connor Stoll, you need to get over yourself. Are you really that desperate to fall for one of your best friend's girlfriend? Ridiculous, both of you. What is wrong with your brains? Are they fried or something?"

Connor looked guilty, and ran his fingers though his hair. He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. Not even an apology.

"Wait, so that's not Travis?" Annabeth said from behind me coming out from behind the lockers.

"Oh, look. It's the little blondie," Rachel said sneering.

"Why you..." Annabeth said through clenched teeth. She looked like she was ready to pulverize Rachel.

"Don't make me get angry with you," a voice said from the other end of the hall. He had on his swim trunks and his goggles were placed on his mop of wet raven black hair, but they looked kind of messed up. Water was dripping all around him and it made a path were ever he walked. I think he just came from swim practice because a towel was slung over his shoulder and he wasn't wearing a shirt, so his six pack was showing. He was also clanking when he walked with his flip flops. It was kind of hard to take him seriously like that.

"Percy?" Rachel said.

"Rachel, I'm sick of your games. I was just going to the locker to get another pair of goggles, because my pair broke, who knows how, and I come to see you smooching with Connor. I've put up with this too long. When you start harassing my friends, that's the end point. We're through," Percy told Rachel. I've never seen him this mad in my entire life. Not even when Grover stole his blue pancakes without asking permission. It was like he was a totally different person.
