Annabeth Chase

Since I had won the bet, more or less, Thalia was forced to hand over her phone. She narrowed her eyes a little as she handed it to me and gave me a smug look, but smiled as if remembering that Percy and I had to kiss in order to get it.

"Don't forget," Thalia said tiredly as we entered our room, "if it's not fully charged the day that I get it back, I have full permission to beat your butt." Then she sighed and fell onto her bad with her arms fully extended.

"Yep," I said turning on her phone. "Thanks for the phone, Thals."

"Yeah, no problem," she said, not noticing my sarcasm. "I'm going to bed. I'm so tired from cheerleading, I just want to go to sleep right now."

"Okay, night," I said, scrolling through her contacts. I was looking for Travis's number.

"Don't stay up too late," she said groggily into her pillow

It was a little past three, and Travis obviously wasn't awake because he wasn't texting back. I found Thalia's laptop and her email and signed on. It also said that Percy was online. I wondered why as I typed out an email to him, telling him my email and to email me... I figured it was because I was bored. The apartment was quiet, and my bed was comfortable. I turned to see if Thalia was awake and she was snoring away, her arm and leg dangling of the bed. I was tempted to put them on her bed so she wouldn't fall of and hurt herself again (her toe was already bruised), but I was scared that her reflexes would act up and she would throw me half way across the room.

After I didn't get an email back from Percy, I decided to try and go to sleep again. After all, the school had a track meet, then a swim meet and soccer game, tomorrow. I was going to go to all three because Thalia and Jason were participating in some of the events and I thought it would be good if I came to watch.

~oOo~

"Annabeth," a voice called.

"What? I'm trying to sleep," I murmured back through my pillow. It probably sounded "Hut? H'im hying hu heep" but I guess Thalia understood me. She had talent.

"Get up. We have to go to the track meet at school, then the swim meet and then the soccer game. Wow, that is a lot of meets. And they're all of the same day. What are the odds? Hey, Percy's in the swim meet. If he didn't tell you already, he's the captain of the swim team so we're bound to see him..."

I looked out the window but remembered that I couldn't see anything. "What should I wear?"

"I dunno. Something warm. Jeans and sweatshirt, maybe," she suggested. "I'm not exactly an expert on fashion. I bet even Jason knows more about this stuff than I do."

She had her cheer uniform on for the soccer game and the purple skirt was just above her knee, so it wasn't that bad. She had her hair in a ponytail and a green ribbon instead of a white one, which is the one that she used for practice. Her halter top cheer top had a long sleeved white skirt under it, tightly stretched across her skin. I could tell that she didn't like it because she kept on picking at the shirt as if trying to make it looser.

"Ugh," Thalia groaned. She was furiously trying to pull her cheer skirt down, but it wouldn't budge. "I just don't understand why you pay more money for something that has less fabric. I just don't understand."

I shrugged. It was a good question. "I don't know."

"I guess I could wear my other skirt," she said tilting her head when she finally realized her skirt wasn't magically going to grow longer, "but I would look weird, which I don't mind, just Rachel would totally freak, which I would also love to see, but it might get me kicked off the squad."
