Annabeth Chase

Lucky I'm in love with my best friend

Lucky to have been where I have been

Lucky to be coming home again

I'm lucky we're in love in every way

Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed

Lucky to be coming home someday

"Annabeth!" I heard Percy call from the opposite side of the room. "Can you help me with something? I test that I have tomorrow?"

It was a week after the Homecoming Dance, but people were still talking about it like it was some super duper important day. Percy and I were just studying for a test we have on Greek Mythology. He invited me over and since I lived the floor above him, I didn't really mind.

I rolled my eyes and started to get up off the couch. "Fine."

"I kind of need help with this question," Percy said once I got over to where he was sitting. "About Greek Mythology. Why in Hades name would Greek Mythology on my history exam, anyway." he muttered. "And you know these names are just so confusing. Why doesn't Gaea have a better imagination? Her kid's names all sound the same for crying out loud. I mean, Kiois, Kronos and Krios all in one family. It must have been a tongue twister calling them all for dinner."

I smiled. "So what's the question?"

"Uh, it's this one," he said pointing one of them.

I quickly scanned over it. "Okay, uh, which two sons of Theseus took part in the Trojan War?

Percy shrugged. I was about to answer, but he interrupted me. "You know I always thought about how cool it would be to become a demigod. That would just be awesome. I would totally bash those monsters heads together and have sweet powers."

"Well, think about this. Being a demigod is dangerous. You could easily die in a matter of seconds, painfully, and battling all those monsters, don't even get me started. You would need intense training 24/7. Gods would use you as a pawn to do their bidding and your life would pretty much be a nightmare."

"Yeah, but it would be cool right?"

I thought about it. "Yeah, I guess. Now, back to the question. Thes-"

Percy put his elbows on the table and looked at me. "You would probably be a daughter of Athena because you are all brainy and stuff."

"And you'd be a son of Poseidon because you're a fish out of water, now back to the question."

"But that would make total sense, right? Athena is the goddess of wisdom and you're really smart."

"Yes, now-"

Percy shifted uncomfortably. "Are you going to explain all this hard stuff, because I kind of need to go to the bathroom..."

I sighed, trying to hold back a smile, "Fine."

"Thanks, Annabeth." He got up and walked over the washroom.

I sighed to myself and drummed my fingers on the countertop while reading some of his notes. They were all really messy and it took me a while to actually figure out what they said. His handwriting hadn't improved over the last few months, but I guess it was okay as long as he could read it. The toilet flushed and Percy emerged from the bathroom sighing as he sat back down. He swivelled his seat left and right and I could hear the creaky sound.
