Percy Jackson
I won't give up on us
Even if the skies get rough
I'm giving you all my love
I'm still looking up, I'm still looking up.
The days passed by and sooner or later, the real Christmas came, where I was going to give Annabeth my real present. I thought long and hard about what to give Annabeth in order to throw off my trail. Books were totally off my list because I already knew that she probably owned and read all of them by now.
I knew that she totally hated jewelry, but I thought that maybe the necklace would be something she liked. After all, I made it myself. With Leo's help I mean. The trident symbolized me and my love for the ocean and the owl was the wisest of all creatures, which was just like Annabeth. The look on her face was priceless when she saw it. And luckily for her, her real present was waiting.
So now it's Christmas Eve at six P.M. and her present was hiding in my room. Luckily, Mom and Paul loved the idea, which was awesome, and as soon as my mother saw Mrs. O'Leary, she fell in love with her floppy ears and wagging tail. Now, we would have a black fur ball running around the house.
Annabeth had come over to my apartment in order to do some present opening. I mean, she still had to see my surprise and she said that she had bought me a present that wasn't pancake mix, though I did love the pancake mix. I got to choose it myself. I hoped that it wasn't a book because I would probably say I would read it, but never actually read it unless she told me that she was going to test me on it, which was a very Annabeth thing to do.
"So you're ready?" she asked me grabbing a nicely wrapped present from under the tree.
"Yes," I said smiling. I prayed to the god of presents that it wasn't a book.
"Okay," she said, handing over the gift. I practically ripped the grey wrapping paper opened and threw it over my shoulder. When that was all taken care of, I found myself holding a box of cereal. A box of froot loops. And there were blue ones. Score!
"Oh thank you Annabeth!" a told her, putting down my present in order to hug her. "I love froot loops! And you got me the box with blue froot loops!"
Annabeth gave me an odd look and raised her eyebrows, but hugged me back anyways. When I released, she laughed and grabbed the box from where I placed it down. Then she opened the box and shoved it in my face. "Seaweed Brain, look again."
I took the box from her hand and stuck my hand inside. I felt a weird plastic thing with a lid and another bottle of something. I took both objects on the ground, one at a time, and a smile started to grow on my lips. Sitting before me was a jug of maple syrup and another bottle full of something that looked like blue food colouring. They both went with the pancake mix that she gave me. There was also a framed picture of her and me attempting to make pancakes. No wonder it was kind of heavy. At least it wasn't a dictionary or anything.
"Oh, thank you Annabeth! This is even better than froot loops!" I said pulling her in for another hug. She wrapped her arms around and put her chin on my shoulder, sighing. I guess she thought that Christmas was over for the both of us. I hated to say this, but for once in her life Annabeth was wrong. I released my grip and put a large smile on my face. Annabeth stared at me face and looked behind her, and then back at me, who was still smiling.
"Uh, why are you staring at me like that?" she asked, looking around the room. "Is something funny? Did Leo draw on my face again, because he was over last night?"
