Annabeth Chase
You and I
Not even the gods above
Can separate the two of us
No, nothing can come between
You and I
I mean, sure it took some time, but Percy and I were officially a couple. Sure we weren't perfect, because sometimes, I tended to judo flip him whenever he was being a doofus, but it didn't really matter. Whenever I think of something stupid that Percy will do, a smile always flickers upon my lips making others think that I was strange for smiling at toilet paper. I know I sound like a cheesy love sick teenager, but deep down, I know that we'll both get there eventually. Yeah, that also makes me sound like a cheesy love sick teenager, but you get the point.
Thanksgiving break was over and it was back to school. It was cold, colder than in San Francisco. We had midterms, which weren't that bad, and then still had more school. Time flew and it felt like I was living in New York all my life. Snow started to fall more and more often and soon enough, it was winter break.
Anyways, Christmas was already here, kind of. It was December 15th, but I wanted to get my shopping done fast. I could tell that Percy was hiding something, because whenever I walked past him, he would give me a mischievous smile as if he knew something that he didn't. He had said he had an amazing gift for me. I had tried to snoop while he was sleeping, but nothing. His closet was too much of a mess to find anything, though there were no clothes in it. Now they were either piling up in the hamper or on the floor. Percy's drawers had sports magazines at the bottoms and behind the TV in was room was just dust. A lot of it. Let's just say that Percy wasn't the most organized boyfriend. I felt kind of bad for invading his personal space, but I really wanted to find the present. It kept on bugging me.
I also couldn't think of what to get him for Christmas. I thought about a new phone, but with my new job at the book store, I finally thought that I could afford it. But then again, he never complained about his current phone.
I also thought of getting him a book, but I knew he wasn't really the biggest fan of reading, and I was all out of ideas. Everything that I came up with had a flaw of some sort.
A fish would 'get the flush' if he didn't feed it enough, which I could see happening, clothes would just be bad, especially socks and I just couldn't decide on what colour Beats to get Percy since he had to give Jason's back pretty soon. I mean, it was the best idea, but it just seemed iffy. What if he didn't like the colour or the style? What if they malfunctioned and had to get recalled? Would they damage his hearing so he would have bad ears for the rest of his life? They were pretty loud.
I just didn't know what to do, and Christmas was just a couple weeks away. I decided that I should just talk to Thalia since she knew him the best and she lived the closest. Right in my bedroom.
When she came back from some archery class, she lazily threw her stuff on the ground and sighed, falling onto the bed.
"Argh, stupid arrow," Thalia groaned. She sat up and started punching an eagle pillow over and over again.
I raised an eyebrow, still walking. "What happened this time?"
"I was one arrow away from getting two bags of chips. One arrow!" she cried, clearly aspirated. "The chips don't mean anything, it's my ego that's hurt. My ego!"
"Explain."
"So, today there was like this competition thing," she told me, finally stopping the punching and sprawled herself across the bed, "and you know Will, Will Solace? Well, he also signed up for the archery class, and he beat me by one freaking arrow. One. And he got the bags of chips instead of me."
