{Midoriya POV}

I headed up the floors, arriving at my room.

Tap.

I flinched, turning around. Todoroki-kun was there, his usual blank gaze staring into my very soul. For a second, I was weirded out by the fact I couldn't hear him, but then I remembered what had happened just moments before. He tilted his head, before tapping his ears, indicating my missing hearing aids.

"I lost them." I said, though I couldn't hear myself again. Plunging myself into this dark silence scared me.

He nodded. He pointed at me, before making an "okay" sign. He tilted his head again.

"I'm okay."

His shoulders lifted slowly and dropped. A sudden, short breath escaped his lips, hitting my arms. He sighed.

"I-I'm really okay."

He sighed again.

"I'm okay, Todoroki-kun!"

Another sigh.

I knew he wasn't going to give up any time soon.

"O-Okay...Maybe...I don't know..."

What came after surprised me.

You fought with Bakugo, didn't you?

My eyes grew. You can sign?

My father threatened to take away my senses if I failed him.

Ah...

He pointed at my room door. Want to talk about it?

And that's what happened...

My hands were starting to cramp. I rubbed my fingers, sighing. I haven't signed this much in a long time. Though I do practice from time to time, this was definitely going over my limit.

Buzz!

I looked at my phone, wondering who could be texting me.

We can text instead, if you'd like. My hand hurts.

I looked up at Todoroki-kun, who blinked in response. I smiled.

Yeah, that's better. Thanks.

I didn't think you'd be able to yell at Bakugo.

What's that supposed to mean...?

He's scary.

I couldn't help but laugh. Kacchan WAS kinda like a bomb. Throw in his quirk and he practically was one.

Todoroki-kun smiled gently as I gave him a grateful smile.

You should smile more often, you haven't been recently.
