{Midoriya POV}Even though a couple of weeks passed, there was no word about my leaving the class. Everyone was on their toes, holding their breaths every time someone unfamiliar walked into the room. Nothing came, though.
"That's weird," I said. "I thought someone would be here by now."
"Be grateful about it," Kacchan said, clicking his pen. We were hanging out in his room after classes, doing homework. He was on his bed, laying on his stomach while I sat on the floor, doing my homework. I heard the rustle of his blankets until I felt his chin land on my shoulder.
"Why aren't you doing the essay?"
"Essay? The extra-credit one?"
"Yeah."
"Well...I don't need to. Or want to. Are you doing it?"
"Hm."
"Why? Aren't you at the top of the class?"
"YOU should be doing the essay, your grades suck ass."
"Wha- I'm top five, you know!"
"Keep thinking like that and you'll never be number one hero," He said. His body slid off the bed, his legs spreading on both sides of me. His arms wrapped around my waist. "Stupid."
I smiled, leaning back into his warmth. "Heehee, you're warm."
"Is that so."
We stayed in comfortable silence for a few minutes. Kacchan stayed still, his breathing audible in my ear. I closed my eyes, savoring this rare moment.
"Kacchan, what if I HAVE to leave?"
"I don't follow rules. And now that you're not yours, you won't follow rules either," He said immediately, making me laugh.
"Yeah, but then we're gonna get in trouble. With the pros and everyone."
"Well, you got the extras, don't you? What're a few adults gonna do to 20 other kids, huh? Besides, I'm gonna beat them." He flicked my forehead, making me flinch. "And are you just gonna sit there and watch while we do all the fucking work?"
"Of course not!"
"Thought so," He rubbed my head. "So don't say stupid shit. I'm gonna rip your throat out."
"Th-That sounds brutal..."
"Serves you right."
. . .
After two months, my guard was down. No one had come to tell me the bad news.
Not today.
During our training session, I was practicing against Kacchan. He was pointing out a ton of mistakes while we fought.
"Your foot is too low!"
"Too weak!"
"Put your weight on your LEFT foot, idiot! No, your other left!"
"You jump too low!"
"VISUALIZE!"
"Bakugo, aren't you being too harsh on him?"
"Hah? Going easy is an insult!"
I smiled, panting slightly. "Don't worry, Kirishima-kun. Kacchan is doing me a favor by going all out!"
