AFTER THE CORONATION, SHE RODE
out through the village with a laurel crown on her head, the crowd surrounding them cheering.

She looked at Caspian ahead of her, a huge smile on his face as he wore a slightly oversized golden crown that showed he was the true king of Telmar.

The four Pevensies were behind them with the Narnrians walking behind, showing the Telmarines that they were nothing to he afraid of.

Selena chuckled as they rode towards the castle, the girls and they both separating for the ball that was going to commence.

The three girls were escorted to a seperate room and placed behind dividers as the servants helped prepare them for the ball.

"I've missed Narnia so much, the balls, the fighting, all of it," Lucy said from behind the divider.

"I've never really been to a ball before," Selena stated. Lucy gasped, either from the corset being pulled or because she'd never been to a ball.

"Really! You've never been to a ball?" Lucy asked, emerging from the divider at the same time as her sister. The two girls wore a loose yellow and blue dress respectively.

"Yeah, I went to a few when my parents worked in the courts but I was like six so," she said with a chuckle, emerging from the divider, "I do remember how to dance though, kinda,"

"You look stunning, doesn't she look stunning Susan," Lucy said, nudging her older sister.

Susan smiled, "You look great," she said. Selena was wearing a different dress to the girls, whilst theirs was loose and flowy, hers was a traditional coronation dress. A tight corset waist and a ball gown style in the traditional black.

Selena blushed, "Thanks, you girls look great too," she said with a smile from looking at the pocket watch she had hidden in the pocket in the dress, "We should probably go soon,"

"Are you nervous?" Lucy questioned, always so inquisitive.

"Of course but, I'm a leader now, I can't be too scared," Selena said, taking a deep breath as they were escorted to the ball.

The boys were already at the ball when the girls arrived. Lucy and Susan were introduced first, descending the stairs as they met up with their brothers.

"Queen Selena Dorana of Narnia, the dauntless," the man said and she approached the top of the stairs.

The crowd gasped and she started walking down the stairs. Caspian gawked, staring at the girl as she walked down the stairs.

He held his arm out and she rolled her eyes before taking his arm, the two walking into the middle of the room, the people dispersing around them.

"Where are they all going?" She whispered, keeping the smile on her face.

"They're letting us dance. It's traditional for the king to have the first dance, and the Queen," he said.

Selenas eyes went wide in fear. She'd have to dance. In front of everyone. Caspian instantly noticed the look of panic on her face.

"Hey, its okay, just follow my lead," he said, taking her hand in his and placing the other on her waist.

She chuckled, "Don't be getting too friendly with my now Caspian," she said and he smiled.

He was going to respond with some snarky comment but then the music started and they started to dance to the music.

Selena followed his lead, allowing him to lead her around the circle. At certain intervals, he would lift her up slightly, a fluttery feeling in her stomach that she dismissed as fear.

Slowly, the others joined like some of the other Telmarine lords, Peter, Susan, Lucy and Edmund, and eventually other people until everyone was dancing in their own little square.

But it felt like it was just the two of them in the room, their eyes never leaving each other.

As the song stopped, he dipped her, the two breathing heavy. All the eyes in the room were on them as Caspian slowly helped her up, the two smiling at each other.

After all of the dancing and the festivities, Selena went outside to get some air. She stood on the balcony and watched the fireworks over the courtyard.

"It's nice isn't it, the palace," he said as he walked over to stand next to her, the two looking out at the fireworks.

"Yeah, I can't believe I'm living in the castle again, expect now I have my own living quarters," she joked with a smile.

"You look really nice," he said, a slight blush rising to his cheeks as he admitted it out loud.

Selena chuckled, "You don't look too bad yourself Caspian," she said with a chuckle, nudging him in the side.

They stood in silence for a while, neither knowing what to say but it was a comfortable silence where they didn't have to say anything.

"Thank you, for everything you've done for Narnia," she said, shaking her head and chuckling to herself, "I never thought I'd say that,"

"Well I couldn't do this without you," he said, a small smile on his face.

"Thats very true Caspian, very true. I think you'd be dead without me," she stated jokingly.

"Who was the one knocking on deaths door? I think it was you," he said and she feigned a gasp.

"If it wasnt for you not watching where you were going, I wouldn't have had to save your life," she joked, the two laughing with each other.

As he looked at her, face illuminated by the colourful fireworks and the moonlight, he realised he was falling for her.

Everything she said broke his heart slightly, every playful joke and every single thing she said made him realise that she only tolerated him and he could never have that future.

"You know what Caspian, you're not too bad," Selena said and his face lit up.

She chuckled at his smile that was always so adorable and endearing. Yeah, she thought, maybe he wasn't so bad after all.
