THREE YEARS HAD PASSED, THE TWO becoming friends and being used to the heavy burden that came with ruling Narnia.

"I don't know why we had to come on this path anyway," she complained, looking around as she dusted the dirt off of her legs as she stood up.

They were walking through the forests in the archlands toward and encampment where they would be meeting with their leaders to talk about a peace treaty.

"I was told this was a fast path by the governor," Caspian explained, rolling his eyes.

Over the last three years the two had been inseperable - even though they wanted to be on opposite sides of the planet most of the time.

They had to work together to get everything done because of their equal jurisdiction to everything. Most people were fed up with their squabbling but put up with it.

"Yeah, by who? Bandits who are going to kill us tomorrow?" She asked sarcastically, folding her arms over her chest.

"Bandits? This is a simple treaty and the governor had promised us no harm whatsoever - that would cause a war," he explained.

She just shook her head, the two continuing to walk in silence. Their arguing was constant and she was fed up with how he always thought he was right.

Selena had come up with a perfect comeback and was about to speak when she heard a rustling in the bushes, stopping.

"Caspian," she said, her voice as quiet as a whisper, "Don't move,"

He furrowed his brow, turning back to look at her, "Don't move? What do you me-"

But he was cut off by the sound of arrows firing and he ducked, pulling her down with her and not noticing the arrow in her side.

She winced, looking down as she pulled it out, leaving it behind in the woods as she began to crawl away with Caspian, the two of them ignoring the arrows being fired at them.

"No bandits eh?" She questioned, knowing she had been right and he shook his head as he stood up, pulling her up with him.

"Come on, we've got to go," he said and the two started running towards town, the adrenaline coursing through her veins.

"Damnit Caspian!" She exclaimed as she walked away from the forest, clutching onto her stomach.

"You okay?" He asked, the question nonchalant as they continued their walk.

She nodded, "I'll be good until we get to the Inn, the arrow wasn't too deep," she said, wincing as she put pressure on it.

This was meant to be a simple talk but mow they were left to hobble back into town to find somewhere to stay for the night before they made the rest of the journey to the archlands.
