Chapter 7

The next morning was okay. We walked for hours but on the bright side, we made it some stores and got food, water, flashlights and other stuff. The Market was full. Everybody got what they looked for for so long, Mike got new shoes. But we still didn't have any place to go. Sleep. We didn't have a home. When we were walking I saw something from the counter of my eyes. I let go of Ross' hand and went behide the buliding. I saw a creature, half green and half metal, eating something. It was so big. I didn't want to get to close. I didn't know if I would win that battle.

"Jess?" Ross called out coming my way "What are you looking at?"

"Shhhhh...." I said still looking at it.

"Come on Ross" Johnny yelled "We don't have all day"

I heard footsteps behide me and Ross. They covered their mouths and stood their, looking at it.

"What is that?" One wisppered

Johnny came and looked at it.

"Where are we?" I asked

"After the wall" Johnny said

"You mean that were not safe!" Sarah yelled

"We can't live outhere!" Winter yelled

"Were going to die!!!" Yelled Mark

Johnny was getting cut off. They were calling him names and blaming him for what happened.

"Listen," he said "If we stay together-"

"We will die either way!" Mark yelled "We could've been died allready, and you don't even tell us that we were out here!? What sick man are you?!?!?!"

Johnny sighed "I didn't know that we were out here until last night. One of those things were coming towards us. I got up and went the other way. I saved youe lifes. And all you guys do is treat me like crap. I could've let you guys die."

Everyone stopped and looked around

"I'm sorry" Winter said

"Me too" Mike said

"Is their a way that we can be safe without dieing?" Mark asked

Johnny sighed "Unless we make it to the wall"

"We can't" I said "Theirs nothing left"

"What do we do now?" Mike asked

"I don't know" Johnny said "Fine a place to sleep so that we don't get killed in our sleep."

We found a house by the time that the sun was setting. We made our beds in the living room after Johhny, Mike and Mark checked the house and made sure it was safe. Ross stayed with us girls and made sure that nothing happened. We eat in slience and went to bed. Ross layed down beside me and got my hand.

"I love you" he said

"I love you too" I said and layed down

Ross sighed and got on his side, looking at me

"I always will" he said

"Me too"

He never got his eyes off of me "More than anything"

I looked at him

"Your the thing I think about. I dream about you. I make sure that your safe and I always go first" he said

"You think we ready for a child?" I asked

"I am" he said

"Do you want it growing up in this world?"

"No" he said "But I'm willing to give things up for it."

"How would we get its food? How will we get the stuff that it needs" I said

He looked alway, then back at me "We can make it with it"

"Can we? And why are you calling a child 'it'?"

"Because, I don't know if I'm talking about a boy or a girl" he said

"What do you want?"

"Maybe a boy" he said "I don't know"

"Well, we can't chose"

"I know"

"Whatever is fine?" I said

"Yes"

"Do you want one now?"

"When your ready" he said

I looked back up at the ceiling "Will I be a good mother?"

"Of course you will" he said "Will I?"

"Not a good mother but yes, a good father" I said

We gave a little laugh

"Maybe when or if the world gos back to normal, we can start a family" Ross said

"I love that idea" I said looking at him and giving a smile.
