Chapter 28: Medjack-hut

I woke up again on a bed in the Med-jacks hut, it's like I never leave this place. I sat up and walked out the door to the main room, there was no one there. My back was burning with pain and my throat was sore and horse. I leave the hut and walk over to the kitchen where a lot of people are gathered. I see Chuck sitting alone and walk towards him.

    "Hi Chuck." I say approaching him, my voice was all scratchy and kept cracking. "Where is everyone?"

    "Oh, Rose you're awake." He say surprised to see me. "is in the Gathering hut. They're deciding what to do with Ben."

    I nodded and walk towards the Gathering hut. I reach it and push open the door, all eyes turn towards me.

    "Rose?" Newt say coming to the door. "What are you doing out of bed?" He whispers while everyone else starred at us.

    "I woke up and no one was there so I came here." I replied. "What happening?"

    "We are having a Gathering, you're technically not supposed to be here." Newt says as nice as possible.

    "What your boyfriend trying to says is, get lost shank." Gally says, Newt glares at him with daggers.

    "No she can stay she is the only girl we have and it's about time we take her advice." Alby says to Gally. "And she was also the person who was attacked." I nod a thanks. I walk into the room and stand next to Newt.

    "Anyway, Ben has to be banished!" Winston said trying to push his statement.

    "Wait what?" I ask confused. "You want to banish Ben?"

    "He tried to kill you love." Newt said next to me.

    "He's been stung and there is nothing we can do." Minho said looking at me.

    "Well we should at least give him the Grief serum." I said still confused.

    "We ran out when we used it on you Rose. The box hasn't sent anymore up, he will just keep going crazy." Jeff said.

    "We have no choice we banish him tonight." Alby said leaving the room. Everyone follows him out but not me, I just stand there. We really were going to banish another person, I don't want to watch a good person like Ben yell for mercy.

    I felt warm arms wrapping around my waist and a chin rest on my shoulder, I could tell it was Newt. "You need to stop ending up unconscious." He said through my hair. "You worry me sick every time I have to carry you there."

    "It's not like I ever choose that." I say with a small laugh. He kisses my cheek with is warm lips. "I love you."

    "I love you too." He says spinning me around to face him, our lips touch and move in sync. Kissing Newt made all your worries go away like you were free from pain, but then reality comes and you realize you live in the Glade. Where all your troubles never go away.
