Y/N's POV I hastily ate my bread to try and find a note or sign of some sort. It'd been 3 months since I'd spoken to him...
My precious square guard....(I'm not going to give him a name, but you can do that if you want, I'll just call him square guard)
Of course I saw him everyday, but he made no effort to notice me. All he said to me were things like 'player 045 please exit with the rest of the group" or something like 'player 045 you must play the games'. I know he has to stay undercover but he could at least send me a sign to let me know he still cares about and loves me.
I tried so many different ways to get him to talk to me but to all of them he turned a blind eye to. Sometimes I would stay back purposely in the bed area and try to look like I'm having a moral dilemma, so he had to come over to me and say ' player 045 remember your consent form, no player is allowed to stop playing. So please exit with everyone else to the next game'. But it just reminded me how horrible his voice sounded behind that mask, his real voice was smooth and calming like a lullaby, I could totally fall asleep listening to it. But his voice behind the mask was a scratchy unpleasant tone.
Why couldn't he just listen to me. If he truly loved me, he would send me a sign, Right? But I had my doubts..
That was until I found this in my bread this morning...!
We were having a normal breakfast, of bread and water. So I grabbed my serving, and headed to the top bunk in the corner. I didn't really have any friends in this place, it seemed everyone else had made allies, but no one wanted to group up with me. It disappointed me but not really because I thought I had chan-yeol to cheer me up. (That was before he started pretending I didn't exist).
But as I tore apart my bread I found a note hidden amongst the crumbs... I was shocked. Getting excited I started frantically trying to open the piece of paper, while still being careful not to rip it. I quickly scanned the room to see if anyone was watching me, no one was. And then I opened it gently to see what it said.,
Ba-dump Ba-dump. My heart was literally about to burst. With tears in my eyes. I looked trying to catch his eyes, I couldn't get him to acknowledge me. But with a hand over my heart, I felt the pain of three month silent treatment slowly melting away. He still loved me.... I analysed the note carefully and realised it had a comma after dearest, so it read 'To my dearest, Y/N' ( Hamilton reference if you know what I mean). Oh I just couldn't wait until. Tonight. When I could see my Love once more...
So that very night when one weird woman was banging on the door, to be allowed to go to the toilet. She was really annoying, she kept on threatening and screaming. In the end she was going to wake everyone up! I slowly made my way up to the door and stood behind the woman(player 212). She didn't notice me because she kept screaming like a mad man, but the guards did and when they saw me, They nodded and swiftly opened the door.
Toilet woman thought it has been all her effort to get that door to open. So she strode through that opening into the corridor with complete pride in her face and even giving herself compliments. That was probably why she was so pissed off when. Player 067 and I quickly went through the door, after her. (I didn't know why 067 was going maybe she had a secret relationship with one of the guards as well?!)
That was probably why, Toilet woman, turned around and started screeching at us "Oh My Gosh..., YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST WALTZ IN HERE AFTER I PUT SO MUCH EFFORT IN TO GETTING ACCESS TO THE BATHROOM, AND YOUR JUST GOING TO SIT ON TOP OF ALL MY HARD WORK! IM NOT HAVING IT! YOU CAN WALK YOUR ASS RIGHT BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM, YOU LITTLE-!"
I wasn't really listening and I exchanged a little glance with 067, she motioned to toilet woman who was yelling on an on to a non existent audience and did an over exaggerated eye roll. I liked her. As Toilet girl started prodding 067 ,a guard beckoned me to follow them. Exchanging one last glance at the sight of 067 and toilet girl, I followed the guard, quietly slipping away from the others. I was sure Toilet girl hadn't noticed because she would've made a scene, but I think 067 acknowledged I was gone but just didn't stick her nose into my business. (She was really cool, I wanted to see if I could maybe make allies with her when I get back?).
As I followed the guard through the twisting halls and up steep staircases. After a long walk he stopped, turned around and beckoned for me to go through the door before both us. I thanked him and opened it.
Square guards POV
2 hours before Y/N arrives....
I felt my stomach fill with butterflies as the clock ticked by. I still had 2 hours before they visit but I just couldn't wait. I double checked my check list to see if I had missed anything. Tell the guards to let player 045 go to the arena, check. Make sure dinner has been cooked, check. Now all i had to do was set up our romantic dinner.
I laid out a dinner of roast chicken, baked potatoes and all Y/N's favourite foods. I added some vines on the tree behind the doll so while we sat on the ground we had a little privacy. (Their sitting under the doll and the tree, in red light green light). I arranged some romantic candles for that special dinner look. (Here's a visual if you want it)
