Scarlett
Monday had been the first day that Emm would go back to school, I was just hoping that this time it would go better. We had to move 3 times in the past 4 years but to be honest one of those times was more because of my job as of her bad behavior. You see as an agent I had to do multiple undercover operations.

It has been a hard few years, raising a teenager how doesn't see you as her mom is really difficult. Especially with my work, it can get really busy and I really want to be there for her. I have had to track her down on multiple occasions. She has a habit of running away and pushing everyone away. I was so happy that she told me she made some friends on Monday.

We had a complicated relationship to say the least, I tried my best to parent her but I had to be careful not to overstep or she would just push me away further. Even after the four years we have now spend together it can sometimes still be hard. However I will not give up on her, I will track her down and carry her ass back home every single time. She is not getting rid of me. From the first day I met her I knew she was special and one day she would become someone great. I love her like she was my own flesh and blood.

I had to work late today and I wouldn't be home until 11pm but after an bomb threat at noon we were all send home early. I knew Emma had class till 3pm and it was about a twenty minute bus ride and then a 5 minute walk to our home. So she wouldn't be home much later than 3:40 but at 5 she still wasn't home and I hadn't had any notifications of to where she could be. She arrived home only a few minutes later.

"Where have you been young lady?" I question as she enters the kitchen.

"Uhm.. shit I didn't think you would be home already" she says startled.

"That's not a answer to my question, and don't even think about lying" I say stern.

"Please don't get mad, I know what you think but it isn't that bad. I couldn't help it" She pleads .

"What did you do?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

"You remember Monday, when I told you I met this guy named Tom and his friends?"

"Yeah?"

"Now, well you know, I can get a little offended."

"Stop beating around the bush, spill it Emma Johansson"

"Don't call me that! I got in a fight, happy now?" Her words might say she didn't like being called Johansson but her tone suggested otherwise.

"Seriously on your first day?" I say rolling my eyes angry

"While it wasn't exactly a fight, a few girls were gossiping about me and I got mad so I stood up and yelled: you can suck my dick if you don't like my shit. And let's just say that wasn't the smartest move." She says trying to brush it off.

"Come on Emm how many times have I told you to take the high road, you knew this would happen. You can't honestly stand there and tell me this is the first time someone gossiped about you. Just go to your room and finish your homework after which you're cooking dinner tonight." I sight.

"Fine" She says ands storms off.

Emma
As I got upstairs I got a call from Tom asking if I would be able to make it tonight, I told him that I would be there at 8pm. Since I didn't really care about my homework and I knew Scarlett wasn't going to check it, besides she doesn't know what I'm supposed to do, I went downstairs to make dinner. Scarlett had been a very strict parent from the first time I met her, she has always treated me as her own. And even though it can get really annoying how bossy she is, it was a nice change to have some actually care about you.

We were enjoying our meal together, I told Scarlett about my day and she told me about hers. I conveniently left out the part where I had been sent to the principal office on Monday, I mean I wouldn't call it lying per se, she didn't ask. She seemed relaxed and I took my change to ask her if I could go to Tom's tonight.

"I don't think so, it's a school night, I want you in bed by ten, and you got something to make up for young lady."

Ugh she always called me 'young lady' when I did something she doesn't agree with. I was so angry, I finally made some friends and now she won't let me see them.

"cyka" I say. As I stand up and storm off to my room, a hand on my wrist stops me.
(bitch)

"нет, сесть" She says pulling me back down. Her voice sending chills down my spine.
(No, sit down)

Ironically enough Scarlett knew Russian as well. She grew up there apparently. We finished dinner in silence and once we were both done I was excused. Scarlett never let me leave when we had an argument. She insisted in talking things through. To be honest I could get away with quite a lot, but cursing at her was not one of them. She always lectured me about respect and how you had to earn it.

My apologies for the late update, I will probably update a new chapter tomorrow to make up for it. Please let me know what you think of the story this far and it would be nice if you voted.
