3RD PERSON'S POV

"You're worried about him, aren't you?" Gin watched his sister with sadness, feeling pity on how she's keeping things to herself for that same guy again. That same guy who wasn't able to return her the same trust she gave him before though he can't be blamed for it. But still at some point, Gin feels mad at him for hurting her.

"You already know how I ended up this way. Danzai... he will force me to do what he wants if he catches me together with Shinichiro or I'll be considered a traitor of Higanbana." She answered and he can't help but clench his fists tight.

"If I knew everything will lead to this, I should've stopped you from joining. You would've been happy with Shinichiro at this very moment." In every injury she got during gang fights, he had always regretted his decision of letting her join the delinquency but this time, it's more than just regret. He felt as if he's one of the reasons why his sister can't be as happy as before just because she got caught up in some gang mess. "Everything just loves getting in the way of you two." He mumbled depressingly, remembering how the two genuinely fell and care for each other back then only for them to end up breaking each others' hearts.

"Maybe it's because we're just not meant to be together." Y/N smiled at him sadly before turning her back and continued her work on her laptop for her meeting the next day.

Meanwhile in the Sano's residence. Four people sat around the table facing each other as they dig in their food for dinner. However, each one of them noticed the gloomy aura that the eldest sibling is emitting as he silently ate his food and eyes unfocused with his mind somewhere else. This bothered the youngest among them and decided to ask.

"Shin-nii, are you alright? You've been spacing out too much."

"Yes." Was the only thing he replied causing the two of the younger siblings to look at each other while their grandfather only raised his brow in amusement to his grandson's odd behavior.

"Must've gotten rejected by some girl again." Mikey shrugged his shoulders, teasing their brother but to their dismay, there was no reaction from him. Instead, he kept his head low.

"You two, that's enough. Go wash your plates if you're finished eating." The oldest Sano ordered making the two groan in protest but still followed, anyway.

As soon as the two kids were out of sight, the old man looked back at the raven haired boy with a worried look.

"Shinichiro-kun, is something bothering you?" Shinichiro snapped out of his thoughts at the sound of his grandfather's voice and absentmindedly, he looked up at him.

"It's just that... there's this person. She basically just told me that she doesn't want me in her life but everytime I look into her eyes, I always see that same old her. The one who's up to something risky to help others. And I feel like she only wants me away because she has no choice but to do so."

He clenched his fists in disappointment that he wasn't able to talk to her properly just because they got caught up in the topic about the gang.

"Is it Y/N?" Shinichiro's pitch black eyes snapped to the old man who is now smiling at him.

"How did you know?" The old Sano chuckled at this.

"She's the only person who can make you like this."

Y/N had visited them before and even when his memory isn't the best, he can still clearly remember the bond of the two teenagers before. It was a sight to see as what he'd often refer to. The love that bloomed between the two as if they knew deep inside they're made for each other alone. He saw it in their eyes. Therefore when he found out they broke up, it was heartbreaking to see his grandson being all broken when he came back home.

"You know, of all people it would be you who can understand her more. It's because you have that connection with each other. If ever you feel like she's really up to something, then she must be up to something. No matter how good of a liar a person is, there will always be someone who's able to see through them." Shinichiro was taken aback by his words. He's aware that there was always an instinct being triggered in him whenever something is related to her but he would just often push it aside and not make a big deal about it.

"You know all too well how Y/N handles things in her own way so you probably already have an idea of what's really going inside her head." In such a short amount of time, he was able to get to know the little girl before and it wasn't hard to read her which made it easy for him to trust the girl.

"But... what if what I'm thinking is wrong?" The raven haired asked nervously. He's been scared to perform actions that involved that instinct, thinking he might just embarrass himself for assuming things especially when Y/N looks like she means every word she say if not for her unlying eyes.

"Your questions cannot be answered if you don't ask it. Trying to get the truth out of her wouldn't hurt, now would it?" The old man sipped on his cup of tea. "It's normal to fear the risks ahead but you should have your eyes fixed on your goal. I believe in you two, kiddo. I really think there's something more to what happened to the two of you before." He set the cup down and looked at the younger male with a small smile on his face as he encourage the man to pursue whatever it is that he wanted deep inside.

"Listen to what your heart is saying, Shinichiro. It tells you the truth about the person it belongs to."
