3RD PERSON'S POV
Walking down the pathway, Gin greeted Rin and Takeomi who are about to leave the place. He headed straight to the place where he and the whole family kept visiting a couple times in a single year. But today, it was only him as the others got something to do.
As he reached the place, he saw a blond kid that seemed to be around the age of thirteen who wore a school uniform. He is standing right in front of the two graves with a blank look on his face and a bag placed on the ground beside him. Gin walked up to the kid, remembering that he saw him at the hospital that his sister was sent a year ago.
"You must be Mikey." Mikey turned to him and he smiled before placing down the flowers he bought for his little sister's grave and one for the person that she loved so much. "Y/N really didn't lie when she said you look like a photocopy of Shinichiro's face but with blond hair." He chuckled, clearly noticing the resemblance of the kid to the person who had visited them to ask for their approval of their relationship that only felt like yesterday.
"I'm Gin, by the way. Y/N's brother." He extended his hand for the kid to shake. "It's nice to meet you." Mikey accepted his hand with a small shake before turning back to his older brother's grave after introducing himself as well.
Gin watched the boy stare at the grave with a sad look in his eyes that spoke his true feelings of the situation. He felt bad for the kid to lose someone like Shinichiro who is a great guy and a great brother as well. For a moment, he saw Y/N in him—he's just like the way she was when they lost their father and their old man.
"It really sucks, doesn't it?" He dusted off the dust on Y/N's gravestone as well as on Shinichiro's. "Just when they started to be happy again, it was instantly taken away from them." To say that he was sad when he found out about what happened was an understatement, he was devastated when he received the news. And to think that the two were dead on arrival was depressing to them that they didn't get the chance to spend a time with her in her last moments. But to think that they both died in each others' arms was something else. "Life is truly cruel. Especially to them." He clenched his fist.
It was as if fate played with the couple's feelings and bond. It was as if it was mocking them, telling them they can't be together. But they went beyond that. After all, they were in each others' arms in their last moment. Even death couldn't tear the two apart and he knows that.
"I don't know what they did for fate to play them like this but they deserved better. There was so much more waiting for them ahead." He touched his sister's carved name as Mikey stood beside him and listened to him intently. "I pray that they'll find each other in the afterlife, too." He turned to look at the grave beside his sister's and smiled as if it was the person Shinichiro who he's smiling at. "And they'll be happy there." His smile turned bitter as he thought of his dream of having them marry in the future and them living with them in a comfortable life.
"Do you think they can also have kids there?" He turned to the kid and smiled. He noticed that Mikey's eyes were already puffy and he knew in an instant, he's been crying in front of the two. "They'd probably have such good looking angels, don't you think so too?"
"Indeed... they would." Mikey nodded, also wishing he could still witness that scene.
"Sucks, we won't be able to see it eh?" Gin sighed and chuckled, trying to push his tears back. "I've always wanted to have a nephew or a niece. I've always wanted to walk her down the aisle towards her supposed to be husband who's gonna love her forever." He continued as he look down in dismay. "I've always wanted her to have a family with the person she loves the most. And that is the one and only Shinichiro, your brother."
"I can even imagine them being happily married and even teaching their kids to fight." He stood up and shoved his hands in his pocket. "We have such idiot siblings, Mikey. They left us way too early." He quickly wiped the tear that escaped his eye, not wanting to look weak in front of the kid who seemed cold.
But Mikey finally showed an expression on his face by frowning as to stop himself from giving in to his tears.
"We do." He whispered as he clench his fists and biting his lip to control himself. He had never cried in front of anyone nor did he plan to make this time the first.
A year has already passed without the couple but still his heart was left broken into pieces and still lacked the motivation to build itself back again. Though the culprit was already arrested, it wasn't enough to satisfy his grief because he lost not only a brother but also someone who was very dear to him and his family. He felt the urge to go after the man who did this to them even at this age but he knows well Shinichiro and Y/N would never want him to do that kind of thing... and so he kept himself composed by visiting them from time to time.
Gin immediately noticed the little Sano's struggle and he laid a hand on his shoulder.
"Be strong, kid. Shinichiro and Y/N will always be with us. Right here." He bumped the kid's chest with his fist. Seeing as Mikey's not yet done with his visit, he decided to cut the meeting short since he seemed to need an alone time at the moment. "See you around."
But just a few steps ahead, he stopped on his tracks and turned around.
"Oh and... Y/N loves those type of flowers. I'm sure she's happy that you brought her one." He smiled genuinely and continued walking but Mikey only looked at him confused before turning to Y/N's grave and noticed a F/F on top of it to which he found earlier the moment he stepped foot here.
"But it wasn't me who brought it here." He whispered more to himself, also noticing the same flower was placed on Shinichiro's grave.
'There were more of us.'
He can't help but shed a tear once again for the two as he look at the ground.
"People loved you, two. Why did you have to leave us this early?" He continued to sob, sitting on the ground wanting to just at least imagine their presence with him, trying to comfort him.
Meanwhile in the far corner behind the shadow of a tree, stood two teens who watched Mikey give in to this side of his and even happened to hear the whole conversation the two brothers had.
"Are you sure you don't want to get closer, Izana?" The boy with a scar on his face—Kakucho asked as he watch the scene with a sad look on his face.
"No." Izana answered monotonously causing for the dark haired boy to turn to him only to have his eyes widen at the sight beside him. There it was, the Izana he knew was now crying.
A year ago even after receiving the news of Y/N and Shin's death, Izana didn't shed a tear but instead fell into a depressing and emotionless state but it was clear that the kid was bothered by everything that happened. To get closer to the two in such a short period of time and lost them in just a blink of an eye, it was the worst for them as the two were the ones who accepted them without a second thought. Today was the first time he saw Izana cry for the couple after hearing the conversation Gin and Mikey had. He can't help but feel pain, knowing there's no way for them to see the two again.
"They're resting well now."
A/N:
Epilogue next! For the epilogue, I'll be cutting it into 3 parts since it will focus on two different perspective and it's too long to fit in just a single page.
