I don't know how long we lie there, but eventually Potter groans and sits up. I try to sit up as well, but he gently pushes me back down. "I got this, baby." He slowly helps me put on my underwear and pants, then leans back against me as he puts on his own. After we're dressed, he extinguishes his wand and pockets it. Finally, he helps me to my feet and opens the closet door. Sirius grins back at us. Potter yelps and I startle. "How long have you been standing there?" Potter demands.
Sirius winks. "I heard the prefects' bathroom has been newly restored if you want to freshen up in there. I'll bring you some clean clothes."
He sets off down the hall, whistling. "I was young once, too, you know," he calls back over his shoulder.
Potter and I stare at each other for a moment. "What about it, Potter?" I finally ask.
In answer, he takes my hand and starts down the hall.We make it to the bathroom without seeing anyone else. Once inside, he removes my clothes and gently lowers me into the water. I lie back and sigh with happiness as he begins to rub a bar of soap over my body. When he's done, he gently washes my hair, the water trickling down the sides of my face. I reach out and take the soap from him and lather him with it, using my hands to scoop the water onto his head. We don't say anything, but we don't need to. Just being in each other's company is enough. Once we're done, we wrap each other in the huge, fluffy towels that have once again been placed out. Sirius apparates I'm front of us. "Bloody hell!" Potter yelps. "Could you not possibly use the door next time?"
I find myself grasping empty air where my wand would be if I wasn't wrapped in a towel from the sudden appearance and was a little relieved I hadn't been able to grab it in case I actually hurt him.
"Sorry, mate," Sirius chirps. "This was easier. Wouldn't want to get caught, now would I?" He tosses some clothes at us and disapparates. Potter sighs in frustration but helps me dress. I help him into his clothes and we walk out of the bathroom together. We pass Sirius on our way into the Great Hall.
"Might want to fix your ties," he whispers with a wink.
I look down and see a red Gryffindor tie around my neck, and a green one around Potter's. I blush red and fumble at the tie. To my surprise, Potter gently pulls my hand away and kisses it. "Leave it," he says. "I want everyone to know you're mine."
I feel myself turning as red as a tomato, and Sirius has a good laugh at my expense. We finally walk into the Great Hall, which is just as embarrassing as I feared.
