I pull my phone off the charger and call an acquaintance, setting up a plan for a couple hours from now. I'm exhausted and nervous and trying very very hard to resist the urge I have to run away. My leg screams at me even as I lay here, and it makes me want to hide under the covers until tomorrow.
But, with my plan in motion, I get dressed in sweatpants and an oversized hoodie, grabbing my baggie that has Lilly's medical records in it. I pull the paper out, take a picture of it and then slipping it back into the bag and then into my pocket.
"You up?" Bakugo calls through the door with a soft knock.
"Yeah! Be right down" I reply, strapping on my brace and making sure all the pieces are tightened enough to support without digging in and making my pain worse. Ibuprofen isn't going to do it for me today and I reach for my toiletry bag that holds my prescription. I try not to take the pain killers too frequently, but today I have to make an exception. I dry swallow the pills and rub my leg, hoping it'll help it work faster. It's foolish.
I limp down the hall and to the stairs, leaning very hard on the railing so I don't fall. I still some how miss the last step and try to relax my muscles so the fall isn't as bad. The crash never comes and instead, I'm swept into big arms and pulled against a bare chest.
"Gotcha" Kirishima kisses the top of my head before setting me on my feet, but not moving his hands from my waist.
"Thanks" I dust myself off, shaking off the embarrassing moment of almost eating the floor. I look at him and realize he's dressed in his hero uniform "do you have work today?"
"Technically. Someone at my agency told the commissioner that we we're friends so my mission for the day is to 'persuade' you to come in."
"But I'm readily going in...?"
"He thinks you'll do something stupid" Bakugo chimes in, coming around the corner in his hero costume.
"Were you here all night?" I ask, looking them both up and down. I'd like to rip off their hero costumes. Kirishima's would take less than a moment since it's basically just pants and sleeves since it's getting a little chilly outside. Bakugo's is more sensible with a jacket and gloves. His gauntlets aren't on.
"I don't know what that look is, but something tells me, it'll make us all late" Kirishima smiles slyly and rubs a thumb along my hip, sending tingles all over my body.
"Who would you pick right now to be late?" Bakugo challenges
"Not helping, dude" Kirishima snips pack.
"Do I have to pick?" I answer, putting one hand on Kirishima's chest and the other on Bakugo's. Kirishima doesn't hesitate and immediately goes for my neck with his mouth. I sigh, relaxing into his hold. Bakugo hesitates for a second, but only a second before he covers his mouth with mine. My mind is foggy, and the feeling of the two of them on me doesn't really register. Must be the pain meds. I pull back from both of them "Shit. Sorry. We have things to do today."
"What?" Kirishima asks, confused. I don't blame him. I'm sending some mixed signals right now.
"I also had to take some pain killers this morning so I don't know if I'm thinking clearly right now."
"You rarely take pain killers. Are you okay? Is it because it's...." Kirishima starts, but looks at Bakugo before he looks back at me.
"Is what?" Bakugo questions, looking between the two of us.
"Yeah. Is what?" I repeat, faking confusion.
"You can't be serious. It's October 19th" Kirishima states, looking worried.
