One year later.

Y/N sat in a train, hair very much longer than before. She stares ahead of her with an empty gaze.

The train rumbles as it speeds on the tracks, early sun beating down on the city and lighting up the cloudless sky.

-

A staff member places a cup of coffee on the table between Y/N and a man, the manager of the bank her account was registered to.

The manager lets out a nervous chuckle. "We've got a real barista working for us here, and he can make you a cup as well. I'm not sure if you'd like it that much."

"Why am I here to see you?" Y/N questions, voice low.

The manager gasps silently.

"Uh, sorry, you had to take the trip here. I wanted to have a car sent out to you, but..."

"Why am I here? What's wrong?" Y/N asks again.

"Uh, well..."

The manager sucks his teeth, taking in a short breath before responding. "So you see, you created your account here quite a while ago and... and you haven't made that much effort to contact us since."

Y/N moves her eyes from staring at the floor to the man.

"What do you mean? Did I do something wrong?"

"Huh? Uh, uh, no. It's nothing like that, ma'am." The bank manager chuckles.

"Uh, you've got all your money set up in a normal savings account. You weren't earning all that much interest in it." He says.

"And recently, our bank began offering these consultations for VIPs looking to expand their financial assets. I wanted to let you know that we're here to help."

He chuckles again.

"I'm sure you're keeping busy. I just wanted to say..."

The bank manager gets cut off as Y/N suddenly stands. He follows, standing up as well.

"Oh. I'm sorry. Did I offend you?" He asks worriedly.

The girl lightly shakes her head.

"Could you... help me out with something else?" She requests.

"Okay, what can we do?"

"Please spare me just 10,000 won?" Y/N asks.

"What?" The manager blurts.

"Uh... All right, yeah. Here, let me just..."

He pulls out his wallet from the inside pocket of his blazer, the bill ruffling as he hands it to Y/N.

Y/N accepts the money, holding it with both of her hands and bowing gratefully in front the man.

She walks off, and the bank manager stares at her retreating figure in confusion.

She only ever used that prize money twice. The first time was when she ate the street food she bought after being thrown out of the limousine, and the second time was for Lady Seo's funeral.

It might be stupid, only spending billions of money twice in small amounts and leaving it to sit there, but Lady Seo deserved a proper funeral. She didn't deserve that death.

Right after that, she vowed to not use the money anymore. It only brought up past memories, and she still hasn't come terms to anything that happened before.
