Anyway more assorted frisk and chara facts

-frisk is indigenous taiwanese. They were born in taipei and moved to nova scotia when they were 3. Their mother died in childbirth and their father died of an accident about a year after the move. They had no extended family suitable to care for them and ended up in the canadian foster care system

-chara is white british (half welsh, half english), though they moved to nova scotia as a baby and cant remember the uk. Nevertheless they retain a cursed middle class londoner accent they got from their birth parents (who pulled a meowth and stubbornly clung to theirs). They grew up in a small village that would later become ebbot city as an only child to very well off parents

-chara was taught welsh from a young age, though their birth dad doesnt actually know any and it wasnt ever a language used in the home lmfao. Their parents fancied themselves language revivalists and hired chara a private welsh tutor who made them learn it daily, after school

-frisk speaks taiwanese natively, though they were so young when their dad died they didn't rlly have anyone to speak it with. This means their language abilities are still a little limited and childlike and they never learnt how to read more than like The Simplest words and the only thing they can write is their deadname. While frisk did manage to find one speaker in ebbot they enthusiastically befriended and regularly speak to (a nice old woman who's happy to talk to frisk when they see each other) and the foster home made a few gestures to keep them connected to their culture (they got the taiwanese dub of frozen on dvd for christmas one year), they're kinda Stuck. When toriel adopted them and learnt abt this she found them a tutor online who's been chatting to frisk to jog their memory of speaking the language and catching them up on stuff they never learnt. Its not exactly the same as having their dad back, but its something and frisk is happy to brag that they're bilingual lol so it works

-chara's parents made them do ballet. They didn't like being forced into it and they didn't like being misgendered, but they did enjoy the dancing and were very good at it. They would still dance sometimes in the underground and toriel tried to sign them up for ballet again but when chara saw the sorry state of the materials monsters were working with to take part in surface activities (the ballet teacher clearly had only learnt abt ballet from watching it and was never formally taught, everyone had sloppy, homemade uniforms, the dance hall was cramped and not kitted out properly ext.) they just got depressed and angry at the injustice of it all and stopped going. They still dance now sometimes and taught frisk a few moves. It makes them happy but its not the same as getting to live and breath again and take part in real, professional lessons

-frisk is an adventurous little shit, and a dreamer. They heard about the legends of mt ebbot and in their little ghibli loving, indiana jones watching, naive 8 year old brain they thought that would make the perfect adventure. So they packed their school bag with like 2 sandwiches, a thin coat, a pack of plasters and didnt even remember to wear and ran off after school. Needless to say: didn't go well and by the time they reached the too they'd long lost their bag, they were tired, their knees where scraped and basically what did you expect but for them to fall down a hole? Didnt kill their spirit tho. I mean, they got their adventure

-chara speaks very clearly at all times. While they do definitely talk more casually to the likes of their family and frisk, their combination of well-off birth parents and literal-royalty adoptive parents means they can speak like the fucking queen of england. They already had a leg up from their upbringing and being a bookworm with a massive vocabulary but when they realised they were now royalty they specifically put effort in to learn to speak as properly as possible to live up to that and would often make speeches to the underground (compared to asriel who would like. Sometimes say howdy fkdkdkek). Even when chara is speaking casually, they're a massive literature and poetry nerd and can be prone to slipping into dramatic turns of phrase

-they were also raised catholic and can be prone to (especially obscure) biblical references. Not religious anymore tho. Y'know. On account of being dead and all and it not exactly being heaven or hell they ended up at

-frisk fashion sense is Blue. Just Blue. They also always forget to wear socks and have blisters that would make a surgeon cringe, have constantly scraped knees and are always wearing at least one gooey plaster. Their hair is usually neat though. Little casonova DOES care about their appearance 😤

-chara loves puns. Frisk does not
