"Gwynnever, are you okay?"
"You have to stitch it, Arthur or it won't stop." She explained pointing at her saddler. "In my bag there's everything you need." Percy reached into it and grabbed a curved needle and thread.
He moved closer to her and she ran a hand through his dusty hair, smiling even though she was hurting. He used a little wine to cleanse the wound then proceeded to put the thread through the needle and with a long breath of preparation, he slid it into her skin, causing her heart to explode. She closed her eyes shut to stop herself from crying or screaming. He pressed his forehead on hers and placed a hungry kiss on her lips. She tighten the grip on his shirt and signal him to keep going. It wasn't the first time Arthur stitched someone up but it was the first time he had to do It for someone he loved and It was tearing him apart.
"Almost done." He whispered to her hear before cutting the thread and took her into his arms. "it's done."
She ran her fingers in his hair and hold tightly. Meanwhile Gawain and Percy where no where to be found but the two didn't care to notice.
"Anything else, I have to mend?" joked the king and she pulled her head back to look at him. Her tress was a mess with strands escaping from everywhere but how beautiful she was with her eyes fixed into his.
"Anything I need to mend?" she asked in return and he took her hand and pressed a kiss on the back before saying. "My heart." she shivered as he added "Because I've missed you so much."
"Why in the hell did you follow us?" she wanted to know straightening against the trunk, serious.
"I knew Gawain and Percy were up to something when I saw them left the castle in a very sneaky way. So, I followed them knowing or at least hoping they'll come you at least I had an excused to see you. But then I saw you come out in your huntress attire and I had to know in what kind of trouble you were going into." She gave him a little slap on the head and he looked so offended as he massaged the spot she hit.
"I had everything under control before you showed up. You have been so reckless to come into a kingdom you knew nothing about. He had every right to kill you, you know? What about Camelot? What about your people if something were to happen to you? Who is going to take your place? Have you thought about this, instead of playing at being the hero!" she was angry and he could tell clearly by the way her eyes were fuming however he couldn't tell if she was mad for the mess he had caused or for the fact that he could have died and she almost couldn't save him.
"I didn't think about those things." He admitted and shut his eyes like he was in pain. She then raised and reached for her bottle of water and a cloth to clean him up as he spoke. "I didn't have the time. I got caught because I wanted to, I knew they'll take me right where you were. I didn't think they'll beat me up that much though. I thought..."
"What? That your title would protect you? In Leodegrance? You being a king means nothing to my people, we value people for their fighting skills and their intelligence and you were pretty dumb to just burst through the front door. I can't believe you were so stupid!" Gwen was exasperated and he could feel her touch become harsher as she ran the cloth on his cheeks.
"After everything I told you about my brother." She kept muttering but at this point Arthur was silly smiling at Gwen and this made her even more furious. "Do not look at me like that Arthur Pendragon! Don't you dare."
"You know-"
"No." she retorted cutting him off, causing him to laugh. He stopped her hands by the wrists and this forced her to look into his eyes. Arthur noticed the druid simple on her right wrist and raised a questioning look at her but he didn't get to ask further.
