"Tell Gawain he'll be in charge of the left side, Percy the right." He heard metallic noises and as he turned, he spotted her. Covered in a perfectly fit armor that tenderly wrapped around her curves not hiding them. A white rose of Camelot was blocked in the not in the middle of her head where the tresses merged before becoming one that now reached below her breast for how much her hair had grown. At the end of the starlight tress was a sharp silver tip of an arrow with a diamond point. Her stomach was covered with iron and a white dragon intertwined with the red one painted on top of the plate. He had this coat of mail made with her own emblem and mixed it with Camelot's so she'll always know where she came from and who she was individually. He asked Merlin to work on it when he discovered she was pregnant so that it will grow with her if needed. The warlock had outdone himself for how perfect the Queen looked. She had her helmet under her arm as she was descending the staircase with Merlin at her side.
"I present you, Queen Gwynnever." Exclaimed Merlin as he theatrically shook his hands around her while she joined her husband in the square.
The army was ready, perfectly divided in section and was waiting for their orders. As Gwen moved forward the crowed that had formed to bid farewell to the king and his army, mostly women, gasped as they recognized her.
"You are so..." whispered Arthur as she exhaled opening her eyes.
"Lovely?" she tried and he shook his head.
"Irredeemably deadly." This made Gwen raise her chin with pride and even let a smile escape her lips.
"I'm glad we agree on something." Arthur giggled as she stopped next to him.
"What do we do with the civilians that remained behind?" inquired Merlin and Gwen nodded.
"I know who can help." She uncovered her wrist where the mark of the druids rested and she passed her thumb over it.
"I have no idea how this works." To answer her statement the tattooed started burning and turning red but it didn't hurt. She waited so long she thought she didn't do it correctly.
"Give it time." Whispered Merlin and he pointed at the fountain in the square where hooded people started flowing into the city. One of them showed his face and Gwen recognized it as the father of the boy.
"You called upon us, milady and we came. What do the queen wish to ask of us?" They all kneeled to Gwen and she moved toward them, signaling them to stand.
"I'm afraid I'm being forced to demand you to keep your promise and lend me your aid."
"Anything for our Queen." The man brought his fist to his heart and so did the rest of his people, causing Gwen to feel weird. Arthur was mesmerized by the whole scene.
"Protect Camelot while we go on a desperate mission to find a little girl and bring her to safety." She explained and the man nodded.
"No one will touch Camelot, your grace. We will give our lives for it."
"Let's hope there will be no need for such a sacrifice." He gestured to his people to scatter and he smiled at her. "You looked exactly as I imagined you." Said the man catching Gwen off-guard.
"And how did you imagine me?"
"Like a white rose of Camelot white very sharp thrones." Gwen felt naturally beautiful in her perfectly fit armor, so at ease, so protected. She never once felt that calm while wearing anything else.
"King Arthur." The man curtsied and he raised an eyebrow to the druid.
"What is your name, stranger?" demanded Arthur and the men gave him a smirk. The man avoided to answer but Arthur didn't seem to mind.
Only now Gwen noticed she never asked him. Probably because the name was a very intimate thing to know in the druids' world. She knew the boy's one and she wondered where he was.
"I'm here, your grace." Merdock moved forward bowing his head gracefully and took Gwen's hand. It was lukewarm and tiny; however, it gave her a solid squeeze.
"I trust you are in good health and stayed as far away from trouble as possible?" she inquired kneeling down.
"I have, your grace. You fulfilled your destiny, I see." Gwen nodded but was shaken by the grim glare she gained from the little boy in front of her.
The worst part comes now, the boy mentally spoke as she widened her eyes. It was still weird to her feeling someone in her mind. the words looked a lot like a mental purring than actual sounds.
I know.
I saw what happened, do you wish to know?
Gwen was terrified to inquire therefore she shook her head and the boy nodded elegantly.
Wise of you. It's all decided your grace, everything that was to be done in order to change the future has already taken place. We're here to take the stock. I wish you well.
Do not get into trouble, Merdock. She warned the kid and giggled causing every other person in the square to look at the boy. Neither of them were talking out loud therefore that burst was quite weird to hear coming out of nowhere.
Morgana cannot be killed by a human. She didn't bother to ask how he knew, by now it was clear the boy could see the future very well.
Only magic can end magic. And then he turned to join his father as Gwen repeated his words in her mind over and over.
She did not possess magic but she was born from it. That must count for something.
"You marked my wife. I don't know how to feel about this. But I'm glad you all are here. Ask for anything, the villagers will supply to your needs." Arthur was gracious but Gwen was sensing his nervousness.
"I want every civilian in the walls of Camelot in the shortest time possible." Gwen shouted for everyone to listen. "We do not need heroes today; we want a folk that can stay united and protect each other. We are one, heart and soul, for Camelot!" she took out the sword of Leodegrance and lifted it up toward the sky. Her started cheering as Arthur replied with his own sword.
"For Camelot!"
"Your majesties, I wish to ask permission to come with you in this journey." Merlin inquired and Arthur looked at him puzzled.
"You are sure of this, Merlin?"
"I am, your grace. I want to be beside your majesties. Camelot has already enough protection against magic, you on the other hand are comparable to a bunny roaming the wild forest ready to be eaten by just about anything." Merlin was looking at him. Didn't he think Gwen could use protection too?
"Granted."
