"Brilliant." Exhorted the voice but the dragon didn't move a muscle. He was staring at her, his voice sounded so old yet childish as he knew her. "Finally, you arrived, Queen Gwynnever of Camelot, the wings to my death." Gwen didn't come there to kill the dragon. It was a crime against humanity to off beasts that majestic. And this one dragon was as white as Camelot favorite rose and as marmoreal as Camelot's church columns.

"I know you are not here to kill me. But you will, it's your destiny." The dragon narrowed his eyes, they looked so tender.

"I'm here for the Grail. I won't hurt you if you give it to me." she offered not knowing if she had to think or just speak what she wanted to say.

"I cannot give you what you seek, because it will fall in the hands of a man that is not pure. It will stain its essence and I'm its guardian." Gwen came closer, she doubted the dragon would hurt her. At least she hoped.

"I need it to save a little girl. Many people have died to save my life, I cannot let him take another person from my life." She explained the dragon could tell Gwynnever was being completely honest and he appreciated it.

"I am aware of what you have been through, Gwynnever Queen of Camelot. You weren't always a Queen just as you were never the rightful heir of Leodegrance." Gwen felt as if someone had slapped her and she looked up, hurt by his words. She heard once from her father that dragons could not lie, they were the voice of truth and everything they said was to be taken as pure gold, just like their eyes.

"What do you mean?" she dared to ask and he tuck his head back, the long neck showing.

"You are the bastard daughter of Gawr the Great. Your mother is a powerful witch that held the strings of your life causing you all the pain you have been through. She's the reason your brother despises you, the reason why Lancelot deflowered you that young and why you do not look like the actual Queen of Leodegrance. You have no throne to claim."

She had so many questions but at the moment none of them was worth the time she was losing. She needed the grail.

"I do not wish to know my past because I have no power to change its course. I want to decide my future. I am the Queen of Camelot, the land under your claws is mine and obeys to me. I have been chosen by the people therefore I am your queen too and you will give me the Grail because I will save every soul of this kingdom if I get a say in it, which I still do." Gwen lifted her right wrist to show the mark of the druids. "I've been marked as a savior because my deepest and most important wish is to protect this land and the people that inhabit it." The dragon looked impressed and even stared at Gwen soul to find a trace of mischief. He found none. The girl was not interested in knowing her story, she only and truly wanted to save her people and was ready to do anything in her power to do so.

"Very well, Gwynnever of Camelot. I crumble under your wish, strike your sword to my heart. I give you my life willingly for the people you love so dearly. Because there never was never a savarin before that deserved the life of a majestic beast more than yourself." The wings spread and lowered down coming closer to Gwen so that she could pierce his heart that was beating under his scales. She could see the red flash on his chest.

"Excalibur." He murmured. "The sword that cannot miss. It is poetic that I gave birth to that blade with my own breath and now it will be my demise."

She took a step forward and looked at the closed eyes of the dragon then to its paws. He was tied with heavy chains and probably had been here for so long. She couldn't feel it in her heart to end his life. It would be like killing Camelot essence, she felt it when she moved her hand to touch its neck. She moved back and head to the tail of the dragon.

She lowered her sword and strike. The chain broke in half and she repeated the procedure.

"What are you doing, Queen Gwynnever."

"I'm making a pact with you. I set you free and you give me what I'm looking for. You cannot deny me, I already respected half of my deal." The other chain came undone.

"You would spare my life? You do not wish to kill me?"

"I most certainly do not. You are a creature that has nothing to do with our mortal quarrels. There is no way I'm going to let you pay for humans mistakes."

The dragon was bewildered and he turned around Gwen before roaring, causing the earth on her feet to crumble. It was the most beautiful thing Gwen had ever seen.

"Queen Gwynnever of Camelot." He murmured before bowing. "The merciful."

The dragon wigged his tail and hidden inside of it there was a cup covered in diamonds with a red ruby shaped like a heart. He handed it to her.

"Only a souverain of Camelot can claim this object but they have to be worthy. And you Gwynnever, are worthy of it. I know deep in my heart that you will not abuse its power and will not use it for yourself. Now let me give you something in return." He lowered his head until it was an inch away from Gwen and he breath out. fumes of glitter and dust whirled around the small body of the human as she felt something inside of her move.

"You are the daughter of Morgana, the greatest witch that ever lived. Your brother knew it and he stole your powers. He stained you by giving you away to the hands of a man you did not love but you managed to remain pure. A shining light among the darkness. You will not have your gift back, and even if your mother cast a spell on your father to convince him that you were her rightful heir therefore, she could claim the throne for herself, Fate made you Queen of another kingdom she cannot take. You have my favors and I will obey to every command of yours. You are my Queen and my master, I gift you the dragon's heart and the invulnerability to any type of magic good or bad so that only with your sole strength, you may bring the traitors to justice. Raise, Gwynnever, wilder of death." And Gwen raised as the dragon told her, and she stood to her feet in front of the scariest creature in the world as its equal.

"How does it work?" she inquired pointing at the Grail and the Dragon curled up around her, inviting her to sit against his belly.

"Sit down, I shall explain everything to my queen."
