A Continuation from 10/10/2021

His stepfather had gotten drunk, like usual, and stumbled upon a gang at a dark alley. One thing led to another and one of them ended up hitting the curb and died on the scene. Since there were no other eyewitnesses, the other gang members said that it was his stepfather that pushed the man, leading to his death.

And the fact that he was drunk wasn't doing him any better.

"I didn't do it!" He shouted to Fluke's mother. The mother and son had come down to the police station to see him that morning.

"I know. I know." His mother said. Fluke who was just sitting at the back can only listen as his mother tried to appease the older male.

"You! This is all your fault!" His stepfather saw him and instantly shouted, slapping the glass window hard that made the guard behind pull him away and ended their visit.

Fluke's mother cried, as she pulled her son into her embrace. Even when it was nothing related to Fluke, her husband still blames him.

Fluke stared at the doorway where the guard pulled his stepfather to. The hatred he felt mounting. But at least they're safe from the monster now.

Or so they thought.

Because words go around fast in this town, that the people his stepfather borrowed money from finally came out and trashed their house. Wanting their money back.

But of course they don't have the money, and so they took their house because his stepfather had given the deed to the house to the men as collateral and since they didn't have the money to pay back, they have the right to take the house and the land.

"What are we going to do? Oh God." His mother cried in despair, as they made their way away from the house. Fluke looked back to his home, the place he's always been since he was little. After his father died, the house deed was put under his mother's name. But of course, his stepfather had taken a hold of the deed.

"Where do we go?" He heard his mother whisper.

They don't have anywhere to go. That house was their only refuge.

The next morning, Ohm woke up early. Eager to meet Fluke. He knows the smaller male starts working early and unlike before, he'll be waiting by the door to welcome him. It's one of his ways of showing Fluke that he's serious in making him fall for him.

However, Fluke never came.

Ohm looked at his watch, it was half past 8. Still no sign of the smaller male.

"Fluke? Where are you?" He whispered to himself as he looked into the road, hoping to catch a glimpse of the petite male. He waited for another 10 minutes, when Fluke finally came through the gate.

"Fluke!" He excitedly called for the servant as he ran the short distance from the entrance to where Fluke was standing.

"Young Master."

Ohm's smile instantly fell as he took a closer look at the other male. He had eye bags and he looked significantly thinner than yesterday.

"Fluke, what happened? Are you okay?" Ohm asked gently. He wanted to reach out his arm to grab a hold of the fragile looking male but hold himself from doing so.

"I-I'm okay, Young Master." Fluke replied, not looking at the taller male in the eyes. He knows he'll break down if he does. He was more than tired and last night he and his mother just walked around until they got to a park and settled there. He would've run to work if he can but with no food since yesterday, he wasn't capable of running. "I-I'm sorry I'm late." He added.

"No, no. It's okay." Ohm replied. The worry in him was so overwhelming that he raised his right hand and used his forefinger to lift Fluke's face by his chin to look at him.

Just as he predicted, the moment his eyes met with the young master, Fluke's tears started rolling down.

Ohm widened his eyes when the smaller male started bawling his eyes out. In reflex, he pulled him into his hug.

"Shh... Shh... It's okay. I'm here. Don't cry. Everything's okay." He whispered, trying to calm the other down.

"N-No. Nothing's okay." Fluke said, sobbing. The pain and suffering just came out all at once that he was starting to have trouble breathing.

Soon Fluke was gasping harshly and Ohm feel the weight in his arms shifting, and soon Fluke went limp.

"Fluke! Fluke! Help!" He shouted for the people inside and picked up the unconscious male bridal style before running inside.

"Ohm! What happened?!" His lother, who must've heard his shouting earlier came running towards him, making way for her son to bring Fluke inside before leading the way to one of the guest rooms so Ohm can help lay Fluke on the bed.

"I-I don't know. He just started crying a-and...Mom... Help him."

"Ohm... Ohm... It's okay. I'm going to call K'Note to check on him. You stay here okay? He's going to be okay. Don't worry." His mother said gently, knowing that Ohm was beginning to panic himself. Ohm nodded his head and she left the room.

Once he heard the door being shut, Ohm gently took Fluke's right hand into his and raised his left hand to softly touch the other's cheeks and remove the strain of hair on his forehead.

"Please be okay." He whispered. Moments later his mother got back inside the room with a tray consisting of a glass of water, a bowl with warm water, a washcloth and some pills.

She put the tray on the bedside table and proceeded to check on the smaller male's temperature.

"It seemed like he's a bit cold. K'Note will be here in about 20 minutes." Ohm nodded and without being told, moved to wet the washcloths in the bowl, squeezing the excess water off and draping it on Fluke's forehead.

"I'll wait here. Do you have his mother's number? She's probably going to get worried."

"I've tried contacting their home number but it's out of service." His mother replied, frowning.

Ohm looked at his mother. "Is everything okay?"

"I don't know honey."

"He's a little underweight. Collapsed due to fatigue and I can see some bruises on his body. Some fresh, some new. I've prescribed them with some medicine but you need to get him checked for any internal bleeding. Based on the bruising, it may be a cracked rib."

K'Note said once he finished inspecting the still unconscious male on the bed. Ohm's mother and father all stayed quiet, quite surprised by what was being said but knowing the reason for the bruises.

Ohm had his eyes widened by what the doctor said.

"We will, thank you K'Note." His mother said. Soon, his father led the doctor out of the room, leaving Ohm and his mom to look at the fragile male.

"Poor baby." His mother sobbed, carefully sitting by the bed and caressing Fluke's cheeks. "His stepfather is a cruel, cruel man."

"Can't we do something?" Ohm asked, mad. He heard stories from his mother about Fluke's stepfather but seeing Fluke's condition just fuel the hatred he felt.

"We can call the police mom. This is abuse!"

"I got it honey. I'll see what we can do. For now I need you to take care of Fluke."

"Of course." Almost instantly, Ohm sat back on his seat and grabbed a hold of Fluke's hand again.

"I'm going to settle this." His mother said. She leaned down and placed a small kiss on top of Fluke's temple. "Everything is going to be okay now." Then she left.

Ohm let out a small sigh. "I'll take care of you Fluke. Nobody can touch you again. I promise."
