My life changed when I met Barry Allen (English) Editing

Chapter 8

The next day, I woke up, got ready and went to the bar to tell Luke the news. I arrived and we chatted for a while. I told him what happened the last few days. When I told him that Barry kissed me, he was astonished.

L: Whoah, wait, he kissed you?

Me: Yes, he kissed me, but now it feels awkward to talk to him and I don't know how to avoid him.

L: Why avoid him?

Me: I don't know... it's just a very awkward situation.

Then I continued narrating the events.

Me: Tell me, do you have any new information about your daughter?

L: Not yet, but I'm waiting on a call from someone. After that, I'll know how to continue.

Later, I went to S.T.A.R. Labs. Barry was there and he kept glancing at me from the other side of the room and I was trying not to notice him and blush.

I was training and he stood next to me.

B: Do you need help?

Me: No, thank you. I just finished and I'll head to the changing room.

I left the training room and headed to the changing room. Later, when I was in the common room, he came again.

B: Why are you avoiding me?

Me: I am not.

I turned around to leave the room, when Cisco walked in.

Ci: Everything went great during the last mission. We should celebrate, what do you say?

Me: I don't know...

Ci: We could see who can drink more. Like a contest.

Me: I don't know if that's a good idea. Not to brag about it, but I don't get drunk.

C: But, Barry...

B: I accept the challenge.

Barry's POV

All day I've been trying to talk with Vanessa about our kiss, but she keeps avoiding me. Cisco suggested at the perfect time to celebrate. But she still tried to get out of that. Caitlin almost spilled my secret; that I can't get drunk, but I stopped her in time. I don't want her to know that, because she'll try to get out of it, and I really need to talk to her.

V: Fine, I'll come.

Luckily, she said she'll come and I'll find the chance to talk to her tonight at the club. Also, it's good that Cisco and Caitlin get drunk fast.

End of Barry's POV

I went home and started getting ready for the club. I showered and did my hair. I put black eyeliner and a nude shade of lipstick. I got dressed and headed to the club. When Barry saw me, he was speechless.

B: You are very beautiful tonight. Not that the other times you aren't.

Me: Thank you.

We went inside and headed for the dance floor. We danced for a while and then it was the time for the drinking contest. We got some shots.

Ci: It burns!

Me: What did you expect? It's tequila.

Three shots and Cisco was out. Caitlin lasted for 5. They stayed for a while and then headed home. It was just me and Barry now. The one thing I didn't want to happen. When I had my 12th shot, I started getting tipsy. I've won in so many drinking contests; I didn't think I was going to lose to Barry.

Me: You can handle your alcohol, I didn't think you could. How come you're not even a little tipsy?

B: I have a secret to share with you.

Me: Which is?

B: I don't get drunk, because aside for super speed I have a super metabolism, so I can't get drunk. Cisco has made a special drink that can make me drunk.

Me: And why didn't you bring it?

B: I wanted to get you tipsy; so that you could talk to me... you've been avoiding me.

And then he came closer and kissed me again. His kiss was amazing. He grabbed me by the waist, lifted me up and put me on the bar. I circled my legs around his waist and pulled him closer. We continued kissing. And then I heard

B: Vanessa, are you listening to me?

I nodded and realized that what just happened was just a fantasy.

Me: Um, yes, can you repeat yourself?

B: I didn't tell you because you wouldn't come with us. All day you've been avoiding me and I needed to talk to you. I'm sorry I did it this way.

Me: I didn't want to avoid you; I did it because I felt really awkward. It's better if we talk tomorrow; I'm not in a place where I can have this conversation now.

B: Do you want me to take you home?

Me: Yes, but not fast, because it won't end well.

B: Even if you did want that, I wouldn't do it, because I want to spend as much time with you as possible.

We exited the club and walked home. There was an awkward silence at first, which I broke.

Me: Why didn't you bring the drink Cisco made for you?

B: Because I would get drunk instantly and I needed to be sober today.

A few minutes later, we arrived in front of my building's fence. We hugged and parted ways. I made a few steps and turned around to look, we exchanged a glance, and he took two steps and vanished.

I went up to my floor and headed for my apartment. My door was half open. I went inside and I heard something flying towards me so I kneeled. When I got up, I turned around and saw Chad holding a knife. I was shocked.

Chad: What's wrong, baby doll? Did you really think you would get rid of me forever?

Me: How did you find me?

Chad: Nobody gets away from me.

Me: I'm not going anywhere with you.

Chad: I didn't ask you.

He grabbed my arm to take me with him and I slapped him. He let my hand.

Chad: What did you do?

He charged at me and pushed me to the ground. He started unbuttoning his pants and I thrusted my knee his groin. He grabbed the knife and stabbed me. After he pulled it out, I got the chance to kick him again and pushed him off of me. I got up, dragged him by the hair and closed the door on his head. He passed out.

I left and headed for Barry's place, because it was closer and I didn't want to worry Luke. When I arrived, I knocked on the door; it opened and I saw Iris. I called Barry's name and then everything turned black.
