My life changed when I met Barry Allen (English) Editing

Chapter 14

We returned to S.T.A.R. Labs, I said goodbye to Cisco and flashily avoided Barry. Then I heard Cisco whispering to Barry.

Ci: What did you do again?

At least someone knows whose fault this is. I smiled and carried on. I changed from my suit to a pair of leggings, a t-shirt and I started training. After a while, Barry came in. He was holding the punching bag and I started to hit it.

B: Do you want to talk?

I hit the punching bag with more strength.

Me: Talk about what?

B: I think that we have to clear this misunderstanding.

I hit the punching bag with all of my strength, made a hole and the sand started falling out.

Me: Are you serious right now? A misunderstanding?

B: Well, yeah. It was one...

Me: No, it wasn't. You believed a stranger instead of coming and talking to me. Even if you had come and told me those things, I would talk to you. You understand that this whole situation was a mistake because Music Meister came to you. And for one small misunderstanding, you destroyed everything. I opened up to you Barry, and you proved that I was wrong to do so.

I turned around and left. Luckily for him, he didn't follow me. I went home, took a bath in order to relax and went to sleep.

The next day, I met with my dad and I told him what had happened. At that moment, Nolan came in.

N: Why are you sad? What happened?

Me: I broke up with Barry, because a stranger told him lies about me and he believed them. Then another stranger came and told him the truth.

L: That's not exactly what happened, try to get in his shoes.

Me: Are you serious? Are you on his side?

N: She's right to get mad, he should have believed her.

L: You don't know everything.

N: I know more than you think. For example, Vanessa is Melody. -We were both shocked.- And Barry is Flash.

Me: How did you find out?

N: It's been a while since I figured out about you and you just confirmed my suspicions for Barry. So, explain to me exactly what happened.

And that's how I told him about everything.

N: After everything that has happened, he couldn't think that it was someone with a bad intention? Even I made that thought...

Me: Those are exactly my thoughts.

At night, I went through my shift at the shop. At some point, I heard Barry's voice and Nolan talking to him.

N: ...even I could figure out that something was off.

B: I made a mistake, I know, but the idea of losing her, it made me crazy. And I need her to give me another chance to explain myself.

Then I heard my dad talking.

L: She's angry, just give her some time.

Barry left and I could hear Nolan saying

N: You know she hears everything, right?

He turned around; I smiled and winked at him.

The next evening, as I was finishing the song, I heard the signal from S.T.A.R. Labs. The moment the song was over, which was the last of my shift, I went backstage and luckily I had my suit with me, I informed my father and left.

When I arrived at the place that needed us, I saw Barry fighting with Grodd. I stepped between them in order to stop them and with my sound waves I pushed both of them backwards.

Me: Stop!

Grodd: Who are you tiny human?

Me: I am someone who can understand your pain.

Once he heard that, he grabbed me and left. He covered my eyes and I couldn't see where he was taking me. When he put me down, I could see around me. I gathered that I was inside an abandoned church.

Me: Why did you take me?

Grodd: Turn off your comms.

I did as he asked and before I could say anything, he spoke

Grodd: I brought you here so that we can have a conversation and Flash won't bother us.

Me: Yes, I see...

Grodd: So, tell me the secret identities of your friends and how you can understand my pain without me showing you.

Me: I can't tell you their identities, because it's not my secret to share. But I can tell you mine, so that you know that I don't want to hurt you. I am Vanessa Lovely.

Grodd: Now, tell me, how do you understand?

Me: Because my friends have told me about the experiments and torture you've been through.

Grodd: Just because you know, doesn't mean you understand.

Me: You're wrong. I've been through a lot of pain and torture from humans. -I explained my story to him.- but I decided to use everything in order to help those who are weaker than me, something you don't do. Not all humans are to blame.

Grodd: All humans are at fault. Men were the ones who chased me, men captured me, men experimented on me and tortured me, and now men are the ones fighting against me.

Me: You aren't wrong. I am a human, so take your revenge.

He came closer, stood in front of me, raised his hand and punched the floor next to where I was standing.

Grodd: You didn't do anything to me.

Me: So, I'm right. A lot of the people you terrorize haven't done anything to you either.

Grodd: I will not hurt anyone who's innocent, but I will take my revenge from those who tortured me.

Me: And I will help you, they will be punished but in the right way, just like I did. We will put them behind bars.

Grodd: I cannot promise that. If you ever need me, I will help you.

He brought me back, showing me the way. Then we came across Barry.

B: Let her go.

He said and was about to attack, but I stopped him.

Grodd: I know Melody's true identity. I will not talk, but if she needs me I will be there.

He said and disappeared.

Barry's POV

He grabbed her and left. Where could he have taken her? Why are her comms off? Why isn't she giving us any signal with her sound waves? I need to find her. I started running and roaming all over the city, trying to find her. At some point, I ended up in front of them. She revealed her name to Grodd. Why would she do that? Isn't she scared? Once we're back at the labs, I will ask her.
