Hogwarts sixth year
1971

"These pissing train stations, you'd honestly think people would see a teen struggling with twenty cases and move out of the way."

The two Hufflepuffs pushed their was through the crowds of parents and students, getting blocked every walking centimetre by a new person crossing their path. They had arrived at the platform and quickly said goodbye to Rue's mother, who had to get to work, on the other side of the platform wall.

The platform seemed to be more packed than usual, mostly filled with excited first years who couldn't hold back from rushing to get onto the Hogwarts express.

"Dais...you're literally carrying a trunk and a backpack" Rue held back a laugh, apologising to a young boy that Daisy almost knocked out with her trunk as she moved her way past him.

"...that's besides the point. They're heavy" was the reply she got, a careless shrug following it. They were in her way, not the other way around.

"Whatever you say" Rue shook her head, gesturing for Daisy to get onto one of the cleared entry doors on the train.

More people were starting to pile on and she didn't want to risk chances of being stuck in a compartment with one of the Blacks or Malfoy for that matter. Horrid people they were. They took pleasure in tormenting those 'beneath' them, that was muggleborns and certain halfbloods they deemed less 'pure'. She couldn't count how many times the eldest Black had thrown a sneer or called Daisy a 'mudblood', it pained her knowing her best friend had to deal with that on a daily basis from people who took a liking to blood supremacy.

"Are you having a giggle? Why are they all full?" Daisy turned to the girl in utter disbelief, gesturing to the already full compartments around them. There must have been more first years this year than there was last year, it was mostly packed with eleven year olds bouncing in their seats in anticipation, waving to their guardians from their windows.

"We'll have to share one" said Rue causing a huff to leave Daisy, don't get her wrong she adored kids but with such a long journey like they were about to have, she didn't fancy sitting with snotty eleven year olds who had no manners.

"Oh for Christ's sake" She marched on forwards, head bobbing into compartments to see which person she'd rather them sit with, Rue just followed her with a fond smile, she was an odd person but she loved her for it, you'd never find another like her.

Daisy came to a dramatic stop when she found a compartment holding a quiet shaggy haired blonde boy, dressed in a knitted jumper and baggy jeans, a brown satchel by his side and a book in his hand. He had a jagged scar over his chubby face and his hands were littered with them too, shades from red to purple. He was definitely a first year and from the way he held himself, tucked inwards, quite shy and introverted. She knew he wouldn't be a snobby brat.

He seemed nice.

"Oi kid" she poked her head in, leaning against the door frame. The scarred boy looked up alarmed, being entranced by the book her was reading. His eyes were wide, a soft shade of amber.

He reminded her of someone.

"M..me?" The boy stuttered out, pointing to himself. He didn't know why an older pretty girl was suddenly interacting with him, offering him a polite smile as if he didn't look like some hermit freak.

"No, the person infront of you" Daisy joked although the boy quickly looked infront of him to make sure no one was actually there, about to apologise to the person he had probably just unconsciously ignored.

"Bless, you're so cute" Daisy awed, a hand flying to her chest to emphasise how cute she thought he was. The young boy blushed embarrassed.

"Stop terrorising him, Daisy" Rue came up behind her and slapped her over the head, the dark haired girl nudging her in pain when she did so.
