Classes has been started, football practice was off, so I used to see Ryan in library while I was doing work. We played with kids every Thursday and Friday.

Ryan used to spend Wednesdays with his friends or video games much to his annoyance. While I spent it with Piper and Katie or reading. Our relationship was going so smooth. And I still haven’t told him that I loved him.

We were at the end of January, it has been one and a half month since we got together and probably the best time of my life. Winters were leaving. I was sitting in the cafe waiting for Ryan to show.

He came in and sat opposite me. “sorry, I was stuck somewhere.” He told me. We ordered coffee and were talking. “Katie asked Sandra out yesterday.” I told him happily. “who’s Sandra?” he asked me. “um. Katie was flirting with her at the dance. You must have seen her with Katie.” I asked him.

He tried hiding his smile. “no, I didn’t actually.” He said embarrassed. “your slow. I hope they’re happy.” I said and he nodded. “are you happy?” he asked me, resting his chin in his hand.

I leaned and kissed him on the corner of his lips. “Yes, I am.” I told him, standing up. We both exited from the cafe after paying, of course.

We were walking towards our dorm. A girl came running towards us and hugged Ryan as if she owned him. He looked just as confuse as I was. “I told you that I won’t leave you easily.” I heard her voice and my brain literally was boiling with anger.

“Rosie, get off me.” Ryan pushed her away and she almost fell. “but you called me here. Don’t lie now.” She said in hurt voice. Ryan looked at me and his expressions were scared.

He shook his head furiously. “No, no, no. Faith, she’s lying. Why would I call her anywhere?” he said desperately. I was looking back and forth between Ryan and Rosie.

“why wouldn’t he? Look at me, I’m pretty, sexy and cute. He did called me.” Rosie said cockily. Ryan laughed humourlessly.

I glared at Rosie. She acted all innocent as if we were stupid. “I hope you choke on all that shit you talk. Maybe everyone can see how you look. But there are some smart people who knows that all that make up and clothes can’t change what an ugly person you are!” I said furiously to her.

Her face looked like she was going to explode. I took hold of Ryan’s hand. “have a nice day...somewhere else.” I said as I walked towards dorm.

Why does she has to try on my man? Why can’t she find herself another guy? Why is she ruining my mood?

These were the thoughts in my head because I knew she was way better than me. More hot, more sexy, more everything.

I was pissed off. Truth is always bitter.

Ryan was silent. I always felt insecure while standing beside Rosie. She was pretty no doubt.

Ryan must have noticed that too, I thought.

When we entered the dorm, Ryan dragged me straight to his room. We sat on the bed, face to face. “those were some dope comebacks.” He said excitedly. “yeah? Thanks.” I said.

“hey! What are you thinking?” he asked me. “It’s just...I know how true she was.” I told him hiding my face in my hands. “what? No! I literally didn’t even talk to her.” He said panicking.

I put my hand on his neck. “I'm not talking about this part. The part where she says she’s pretty and why won’t anyone will be interested in her.” I said not meeting his eyes.

“you just don’t know what other people think of you here, it doesn’t matter if it’s a girl or a guy. You don’t know what I think of you.” He said seriously.

“you wanna know why I don’t remember Katie’s girlfriend? Because I couldn’t take my eyes off of you! Last week I had to stand out of the classroom because I wasn’t paying attention, you wanna know why? Because I couldn’t take you off my mind! I only have few hobbies for the past five months. I can’t do anything apart from looking at you, thinking about you, imagining scenarios in my mind even though reality is way more beautiful.” He said to me, holding my hands.

He was blushing a little. I sat in his lap and hugged him. “don’t ever leave me.” I said to him kissing his neck. I thought I heard him saying “never.” It was too low. “You’re mine, all mine and I don’t like sharing.”

His grip tightened on my statement as if telling me that I was all his too.We sat together. I sketched while he was just doodling on his paper. Every now and then he would say something which made me laugh so hard.

He showed me a photo from his phone. It was a paper and it had really messy handwriting. The writing said:

        To Hope,

                         Happy birthday to the best

Sister ever. Mom made me make this card and

It kills my soul but I love you anyway.

                                                                                          From Ryan.

I laughed so hard, my eyes were wet, I was struggling to breath but it was worth it. “I was only eight and she was what? Six. Mom forced me. And Hope sent it to me yesterday.” He was embarrassed. I was still laughing and fell off the bed.

I got up and sat on the bed again. Ryan was laughing at me now. He had such a cute laugh. His face turned pink out of laughter. “you’re beautiful when you laugh.” I told him, staring. He blushed.

We went downstairs, had dinner with everyone. After dinner Zack, Ryan and William went for a walk. While Katie, me and Piper were sitting on the sofa, talking.

“this month have been so busy, I forgot to show you what Will got me for Christmas.” Piper said happily. She went to her room and came back with a fragile looking book. “its Will's granny’s. She used to love reading it.” I took the book carefully from her hands. ‘her favourite colour was yellow’ by Edger Holmes was written on it.

I turned the pages of the book randomly and read the first thing I saw.

Do you feel that?

The cackling energy in the space

Between our fingertips

As if the universe is begging for us to touch.

It was a beautiful way to phrase it. “it’s amazing.” I told her and she nodded. “what did Ryan get you?” Katie asked me. I took out my pendant from under my shirt. “its beautiful.” Piper said touching it.

“yes, it is.” Katie agreed. Boys walked in and we jumped at the noise. We said our goodnight and left for our rooms. I took a shower first, wore an old t-shirt with pyjama shorts.

When I entered Ryan’s room, I found it empty. He was taking shower. I took the picture of his mom from his book and was looking at it.

Amelia was one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen. Ryan walked in. He sat beside me. He kissed me once and laid. I was feeling a little tired after all the laughing and drama.
