Chapter 24: bedwars w/ bro

I woke up to the ringing of my phone. At first I thought it was my alarm so I searched around my bed trying to find my phone in order to turn it off. But once I did find my phone I realized it wasn't an alarm, but a phone call.

It was a call from my brother Atlas. I had no idea what he could possible want, so I just answered it and decided to hear what he had to say.

"Hi Briar! Good morning, technically!" he said with way too much enthusiasm for the time it was.

"What do you want?" I responded with attitude, patience already thin seeing as I'd just been woken up, my eyes were even still closed.

"Ok, no need to be bitch, but do ya wanna play some Bedwars with me and my friends?"

"The fuck? No? It's 12 fucking 15 am. I just went to bed like 25 minutes ago, I was playing bedwars right before. I am not getting up again."

"Pleeeeeeaasseeee Briar! I'll do anything! Please!" he begged for be to join him, but I was still persistent on going back to sleep.

"No. Now good night," I said as I hung up.

Sure enough, he wasn't gonna give up that easily, and he called me back only a few moments after our first call ended.

I declined it.

Yet he called again.

I declined.

He called again.

This continued for about five minutes before I finally decided I would answer him again.

"What do you need, Atlas?" I responded, you could clearly tell my patience was thin.

"I already told you, me and some of my friends want you to play Bedwars with us."

"Seriously? You wouldn't let me sleep solely for the reason you wanted me to play Bedwars with you and your friends?"

"Yup, now can you pleaseeeeeeee play with us?" he pleaded.

"Fine. But I'm not playing for very long," I got up from my bed and went over to my pc. 

I started booting it up, which took a few minutes. 

After it was all ready I opened both Minecraft and discord.

"At, add me to the call, I'm on discord," I said to my brother over the phone.

"Okay, I'm gonna hang up then add you."

"Alright, you do that," and he did.

As soon as I joined the call I was greeted by several voices. A few I recognized from when I went to visit my family just before I became friends with the Dream Team.

"Hi Briar," said the boy I think tried to explain Bedwars to me.

"Hello... voice I recognize but don't remember the name associated with it."

"It's Aydin."

"Right, nice to talk to you Aydin."
"Okay, I need names for the other voices that I'm hearing through my headphones," I said.

"I'm Luka," a slightly raspier voice said.

"Hi, I'm Everleigh," a female voice said.

"And I'm Keagan," a slightly higher-pitched, female voice said.

"Nice to meet you all, I'm Briar."
"Okay, so we could do duos?? If that's fine I can be with any of you."

"Yeah, we can do that," Atlas said.

"Okay, Keagan and Luka? Atlas and me? Then Ev and Briar?" the Aydin boy said.

Everyone agreed those pairs would be fine, so we set up the game and started playing. 

We played four rounds and I got to know Atlas's friends. Each round I played with a different one of his friends. 

I also learned a few things about how these kids should be paired when playing.

Everleigh and Luka work best together, they each take control of two different roles, both very valuable to winning a game. 

Keagan and Atlas also work well together, for some of the same reasons Everleigh and Luka work well together.

Then the Aydin kid is a bit of a... "wild card." He doesn't necessarily work better or worse with any of them. He kinda sticks out.

I had fun playing with them. All but Atlas, Aydin, and myself got off around 2:30 am.

The 3 of us played a few trios, and a couple rounds where we just went against each other.

After a little while longer I got off and went to bed seeing as it was nearing 5:30, and I was completely exhausted.
