Chapter 23

I woke up in the forest and I saw Robin and Jacob on guard and the other two resting. “Robin! Jacob!” their heads popped up and when they saw me their eyes widened.

“Annie. What happened?”

I looked down at my many cuts and bruises and I said “I hope Jack has told you about me being in an arena. Well I just came back from a fight.” Jacob went over and woke Kishan and Jack. When they saw me Jack didn’t look surprized and

Kishan’s eyes widened and he said “Annie what happened?” I sighed and told them all about my fights and how the man took my powers and that I am supposed to fight again soon.

“We are coming for you Annie. Hang in there.” Kishan said. I nodded and I felt light and I woke up. The two boys had returned and I stood up and I limped out and to the gates with Leo. He offered to help me but I shook my head. I was stopped at the gates and Leo was token out into the arena. I knew that I was now the one who had to save him. I knew what Adikan told me once. He told me to never let one die so that you may live. I would not let Leo die. Not on my watch. I was given the choice of two weapons. There was a sword, a crossbow with arrows, daggers, and a rope. I took the daggers and the crossbow. I slung the crossbows over my shoulder and strapped the daggers to my lower legs. Then I stood at the gate and ran into the arena. I looked around. I saw Leo.

He was chained to the wall. “For every minute and a half that Silent blade is fighting this young man will be electrocuted. Let’s see just how good Silent blade is.” The announcer’s voice rang through the arena. I saw many trees and walls to I dove for a wall and I climbed a tree. I brought out my crossbow and I waited until ten men came out. They looked for me and I notched an arrow and I shot one. It hit the man in the heart and he fell.

The others looked around quickly. I shot two more and two more fell. “Spread out and find her!” one of the remaining seven yelled. I smiled and I heard a cry. I looked and I saw Leo get electrocuted. He fell to one knee and he looked for me. I made a bird sound and he looked and he saw me. He kept his eyes on me as I jumped from tree to tree. Firing arrow as I jumped. I had token down three more men. Leo smiled and then he got electrocuted. I growled in frustration and I shot my last arrow and I only hit the man in the leg. He grunted and looked up and saw me. I jumped down and I ran at him. Pain shot through my body but I still ran. I pushed the pain away and I ran at him.

He smiled and he ran at me as well. “You missed me little girl.

I smiled and I said “Says the guy who couldn’t even find a little girl and also ran and tried to hide from a little girl.”

The man saw my wounds and said “Nice cuts. Want some more?”

I frowned and said “No thanks but you look like you could use some.” He smiled and swung at me. I rolled out of the way and I whipped out my daggers just as the walls and trees disappeared. The other three men saw me and ran at me. I heard another cry form Leo and I panicked. I dove to the side and I was blocked by a kick to the side. I went flying and I smashed into the wall beside Leo.

"Ouch” said Leo.

I got up and I said “You ok?” he nodded and I used the wall as a support. I saw the men come at me.  I sighed and I ran at the men. Two men swung their legs and the other two swung their weapons. One had daggers and one had a sword. I ducked the dagger and one of the kicks but I got kicked and I felt the sword tip go deep into my side. I cried out and I fell to the ground at Leo’s feet.

“Silent blade!” I smiled and he and the men looked at me with confused looks.

“Remember how my name is Silent blade? Well look up.” I said still smiling. The men looked up and two of my daggers had hit two men and I took out my boot daggers and I threw them at the other two. I quickly took the daggers and I put them back in my boots. I yanked out the sword. I grunted and I took out on of the daggers and I had begun to pick at Leo’s chains when an electrical shock went through both of our bodies. I gritted my teeth against the pain and I continued to tot other one. Soon Leo was free and I collapsed. Leo caught me before I had hit the ground.

“I got you. I got you.” he whispered in my ear. I nodded and he whispered in my ear

“Thank you. You were amazing. Beautiful and dangerous with a little bit of humour as well. You managed to fight two battles and still be alive. Thank you for saving my life Silent blade.”

“Annie.” I said in a faint voice.

He looked down at me and said “Thank you Annie for saving my life.” I smiled and I closed my eyes.

“The boss would like to see her to we will be taking her.” A voice said.

I felt my body be ripped from Leo and I heard him yell “Annie! Annie!” then everything went quiet. Absolutely quiet.
