Soft music made its way through the room. The small buzz of machines adding to the notes of the piano.

Everyone was quiet. They hadn't said a word since they came back. Joe sat with his head in his hands. Tears flowing down his face. He wasn't sobbing. It was much- much more than that. A silent grief.

A day passed. 3 days. A week. 11 days.

Everyone visited him regularly. Trading stories about their day. Getting him some gifts. Tidying his hair. Shaving his beard. Giving a kiss on the top of his head or giving him a hearty laugh. Giving him a sweet, gentle kiss on his forehead.

Kara was slowly re-adjusting to her life. Her friends and family made up some excuse for her being gone so long. It was pretty good too. It sounded so....fun....so relaxing...if only it were true.

Even though she was devastated—she kept what he always said to her at heart. She had hope. She kept hope. A hope that one day he would wake up.

Kara Danvers picked up a batch of potstickers from a local Chinese restaurant. Her boots clicking through the halls of Star-Labs. She's been here so many times- possibly more than Caitlyn and Julian while they were taking care of him.

Speaking of Caitlin and Julian, her blue eyes catch a sticky-note posted on the doorframe. A neat, flowing message was written with a black ink pen, contrasting the fluorescent yellow of the sticky-note. It was instantly an eye catcher. Well at least for Kara.

"Hey Kara! Julian and I are going to be away from CC for a couple of days. I know he will be in great hands, but regardless, if anything happens call us immediately!"

P.S
"You can also fly us over! Julian would hate that haha."

Love your BFF,
Caitlin
——————————
Kara smiles at the note. Of course Caitlin knew how many times Kara swung by the med bay to check up on him. So she knew exactly who to direct this note to.

Caitlin and Kara have gotten extremely close after these past few years, especially after Iris, who Kara was really fond of. She practically considers Caitlin a sister. Same with Frost—well of course there being a difference between the two. Frost is the essentially the sister who spoils the blonde Kryptonian. Even more than Caitlin and Alex.

With a sigh, Kara sits down on the plush, red futon in the med bay. Placing her food on the table next to her she looks over at him.

"Hey Barry, it's me Kara"

"How's it going so far?"

Kara reaches over and places a hand over his, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Everyone is worried about you, but they are trying to continue with their lives."

"I'm still trying to fit back in—-work load's been a lot"

She laughs slightly.

She doesn't know how much time has passed but she doesn't really care. Even if she knows he won't be able to respond or even if he's listening, she still talks to him. It's something that eases her.

"Oh-! I got you something!"

Kara reaches into her bag and pulls out a flash figurine. It's amazingly replicates his running pose. Accenting different parts of the suit as plastic lightning comes off from the body. After clicking a switch. The lightning glows a warm, orange color. Lighting up the table it was placed on.

"Cool right?"

"I went shopping with Alex today and saw this"

As she picks up her bags and cleans the area. She walks over to him and adjusts his pillows and blankets.

Smiling, she says something that she had pent inside of her.

"I know I say this all the time before I go—but I miss you"

"I haven't even gotten to spend time with you since I came back...and I hope I do get to though, so I can repeat what I'm going to tell you now"

Kara mentally shakes herself for being so nervous and shy all of a sudden.

"I'm not so good with words- ironically" She laughs, her eyes creasing with a light mood.

Looking back at him, she speaks.

"Bartholomew Henry Allen, you've been with me since we first met and through my darkest times. You've helped me with many things that weren't even remotely connected to you in anyway. My friends and family have been there for me—but you have been there in a complete different category!"

She sighs, biting her lip and fidgeting with her hands, Kara continues.

"We've had each other's a back, and we've had the time of our lives. Especially when we raced."

"I don't even know why I'm saying this- it's completely off topic"

"Barry I just wanna say....Thank you"

"Thank you for...for everything you've ever done for me."

Kara can feel her face heat up as she says opens her mouth to pour out all of her feelings for the speedster in front of her.

"I don't know when, maybe it was when we first met, or the invasion or the musical. But I like you Barry"

"You are my SuperFriend. You are my family, my friends, and, my love."

Kara places a hand on his cheek.

"I don't know if you feel the same way. It's okay if you don't, I just hope this won't ruin our friendship if you don't reciprocate what I feel"

"I can't stop worrying about you. I can't digest the fact that this endangers losing your friendship- if it endangers me staying with you. And I can't bear to lose you. I've lost so much- and you've been one of the people who helped me out of my past. And I hope that you will be the person who will help me find my future"

Letting out the breath she hadn't know she was holding, Kara leans down and places a gentle kiss on his cheek.

She swears she saw the corners of his mouth curve into a smirk as she parts.

With that, after checking the building for any danger, she locks it down and heads back home.

Plopping down on her bed in some comfortable clothes, she drifts into a slumber. A smile ever-so-present on her face.
